Let me preface this question by saying that I am not necessarily looking to injure anyone... I am only looking to scare the daylights out of the drunk French teenagers that like to hang out on my roof in downtown Montréal.
They're loud, rude, disrespectful, sit on the roof throwing glass beer bottles at those walking by on a main street... My bedroom and kitchen windows face the roof bit where they go up and I want to feel safe if they should ever, heaven forbid, try to break into my room in the middle of the night or something ridiculous.
I'd like to find out where I can buy an inexpensive BB/ Air gun that will make a LOUD noise and hurt a bit but not enough to cause real damage. I just want to scare the crap out of them while they're up there so they get out of my (and the rest of the city's) hair. Cops aren't much aid, either.
So, I'm looking for where I can buy it, how much it will cost, the best ones for what I'm looking for and what kind of ID/ paperwork I might need. Thank you.

Don't be dumb. Either buy a real gun and kill them if they threaten you, or deal with the situation in a sane and rational way - call the police. Again and again and again.

BB guns can kill and are not toys. Do not do this. It is very dangerous and highly illegal.
Also, do not be lulled into some sort of false feeling of security about having a BB gun for home protection; a baseball bat makes a much better home defense weapon than a BB gun.

A BB GUN IS A WEAPON AND HAS BEEN LETHAL IN INSTANCES AS THIS.
CALL POLICE OR GO TO SEE THEM AND SET UP A STING OPERATION. THEY CAN FILM IT FROM YOUR APARTMENT FLAT.
THROWING GLASS BEER BOTTLES IS AN OFFENSE OF LITTERING AT LEAST. CAUSING GREAT HARM IF A BOTTLE BROKE ON SOMEONES HEAD. COULD KILL THEM, DEPENDANT ON HEIGHT OF BUILDING.
