i am just about to start on zyban to quit smoking, i know that i have no adverse reactions with zyban alone, as i started a treatment about a year ago that i was unfortunately unable to finish. i also suffer from scoliosis and use codeine phosphate 10mg fairly regularly to control my pain, its difficult to come up with an average of use as it varies, some days i take none, others i take up to 90mg depending upon my needs. does anyone know of any incompatability with these two drugs? i know i should just go to the docs but i work full time and if i wait to see a doc, it could be another week or 2. im ready to quit right now! thanks everyone :-)

My best advice is to call a pharmacy and just ask the pharmcist. Any pharmacist will do. This should ease your mind. I'm sure you know the general side effects of codeine that include drowsiness and inability to operate cars or other machinery, but the new med may make these side effects worse. My experience is always tell the pharmacy where you get your meds what other ones you are taking and you will be fine-the computer alerts to interactions even if the pharmacist doesn't catch it. My experience is also that a pharmacist will know more about the drugs you are prescribed then your own doctor will. Good luck!
