You could also be having problems with an enlarged thyroid which can give you a sense of "fullness" in your neck and cause swallowing difficulties. Please see your physician.

There are 2 nerves which go to the esophagus. Should they become uncoordinated, it will be very uncomfortable about 2/3 of the way up from the stomach. It will actually get stuck there and eventually pass.

Since this control is accomplished by 2 of the cranial nerves, it would indicate there is a rather noticeable imbalance of the nervous system which controls these nerves. This being the autonomic nervous system. Suggesting there are some other of the cranial nerves also being affected. Apparently with symptoms of lessor significance..

You have an esophageal motility problem. that means muscles in your esophagus might not be pushing the food through the food pipe plus the esophageal sphincter might be weak causing some degree of reflux .

Sounds like a problem with your esophagus. Talk to your family Dr. about it and he will probably refer you to a gastroenterologist for an endoscopy. to see what's going on in your throat. it could be gastric reflux. and easily treated.

possibly trying to swallow too much at one time, take smaller bites.
