how many times a day should a cat urinate?

it just turned one and it pees once but A LOT so much the litter cant absorb it fast enough and then one of its foot gets wet...i have a feeling its holding it because i always try to wipe its butt after it poops or pees. AHAHAHA!

I've noticed that our four poop once a day, and pee twice a day, on average.

If your cat is going into the box a lot but only leaving a few drops of pee, that's a bad sign and you should have it checked out quickly, it could be that their bladder is being blocked by crystals. This can be extremely dangerous for the cat.

If he's not peeing at all in the box, check around for other places that he may be using.

Well I do not know. But I do know that Blue (the cat) says whenever he can. Giggling... I also know that Blue will not pee if cat box is not emptied and then he will throw up. So as a rule I keep plenty of cat litter around. Also on the subject of water. Blue drinks out of the toilet, bathtub and his dish. So he drinks quite a bit. He will also try to steal my straw out of my soda. So although I am not sure how many times a cat urinates, I can tell you it has a great deal to do with how much they drink and if they are healthy kitties. Blue says make sure that cat box is clean.. He tells me some cats will not wait to go and will pee most anywhere. If Blue doesn't like some one he will pee on there belongings. I have to warn people not to leave things lying around. Well, that depends on what age it is, what size it is, how much it is drinking...
If it is drinking and urinating a lot, it could be diabetic.
If it does not seem to be drinking much but is trying to pee a lot, then maybe it has a bladder infection.
If it hardly pees but seems to be drinking a normal amount, there could be a blockage.
And so on and so on...
If you can ammend your question to give a little more history and what your concern is, that would be helpful.

It depends on how much they drink and if they have any underlying problems.

My diabetic cat drinks more water than my other two so he urinates more frequently then they do (and more volume).

A cat without any medical condition(s) can urinate two or three times a day.

sorry i can't help you because i just can't find my list of HOW MANY TIMES MY CAT PEES EVERY DAY no but seriously there might be something rong with your cat but i wouldn't know
