The reason that more men prefer electrical and mechanical engineering careers as opposed to women is because these fields are problem/solution careers. For instance, if I see a problem it is my natural instinct to try to find a solution and not to express my feelings about the problem and to comfort those that are experiencing these problems (see the glass of water scene from the movie "White Men Can't Jump" for an example). That is why I became an engineer.
What I find most interesting about your question though is the follow-up question. The follow-up question is not so much a question but a personal comment with the intent to aggravate someone. For you to say that men appreciate "hands-on" careers as being proof that they are inferior to women is an illogical jump from the initial question with no basis of proof.
Therefore, I wish you well in what ever you are trying to achieve with this line of questioning but I'm not sure you will find the answers you seek here grasshopper.

It's neither inferiority nor superiority - electronics and creativity invoke abstract thought and creativity in men just as much as women.
Unfortunately it seems that electronics doesn't attract too many females. I remember in my graduating class at university, out of about 50 students only 2 were female.

Hey I like fixing things and working with electronics and tools too!
Last I checked I was a girl. Maybe your inferior cause you have to find a guy to fix stuff for you. I can do it myself.

Because I know I can actually come up with a right answer to all the hard as hell math, science, and physics questions presented to me. You can't do that with women. So I guess it makes me feel like I have some control over my life and the world around me.

Because, unlike women, mechanics and
electronics are predictable.
We need relief from the uncertainty.

Because it's fun.
By the way, women can't handle engineering much, it takes too much brain power.
