I had a pet squirrel for five years until I sent him to a wildlife sanctuary (he needed a wife)
If he is a few months old, then he is weaned, and you can feed him almost anything that you would eat.
Since he was a baby when you got him, he isn't deseased.
Mine like to be bathed in the sink with warm water. I would give him a good towel dry and let him play in the towel and run all over until he was dry. He had a rope swing and a wooden house with straw that he hid nuts in.
I had one of those large wire cat cages that his box was in. We always made sure to have hard stuff for him to chew on. Squirrels are rodents and their teeth grow constantly.
Of course, he was a house squirrel and was one of the most fun pets we ever had.
Your vet can help with any questions for free, probably.
Good luck.

He could have parasites. Squirrels do not make good pets when they grow up. They are very high strung, need huge amounts of exercise and climbing areas, they will always bite, will chew everything, pee and poop everywhere. Contact a local rehabber for proper, safe release information.

I doubt it, but make sure you bathe him in warm, soapy water. Check him for fleas. Keep him in a cage large enough for him to play in, with a wheel and a house to hide in, and plenty of fresh water in a rodent drinker. Feed him mostly grains and seeds, with fruit occasionally.
