i've had a "pain" (more uncomfortable/achy feeling than anything) in my left shoulder blade, shoulder and upper arm for a couple months, it doesn't hurt in my chest, and i only notice it at night......could it be tendonitis? arthritis runs in my family, maybe it's that? anyone experience this and know what it is?

Sounds more like Neuropathic pain.

Hi Jennifer
Yes it could be tendonitis but it doesnt sound at all like arthritis. From your description it may well be coming from your neck. Pain in the shoulder blade is nearly always from the neck and not from the shoulder itself. Pains arising in the neck are often worse at night because of the posture we all get into as we sleep.

Hope this helps but if in doubt, or if it persists, then you should see a doctor
