Because in the bible they are talking about a donkey. You dont see them using s hit or f uck or anything like that.... back when the bible was written a ss wasnt a bad word. Havent you realized that the bible isnt about holy stuff and is more about the morals of the time it was written yet? A ss has now become a bad word, which is why it is bleeped. would you teach your 4 year old kid its ok to say it?

Because the word A** was used in the bible to describe a mule or donkey or small horse.
We of course have invented a new meaning of it and it isn't to describe a mule or horse and many people feel offended by it and so it is a "bad" word. Not to me, I just consider it a figure of speech, but unfortuantely you get the sensitive ones who want it bleeped out!!!

Because the word "A S S" in the Bible references to a donkey. When we use the word today we most commonly are making a reference that someone is acting like a moron. Much like many words, the word "A S S" has lost its original meaning.

Because people around here aren't nice to eachother, and as opposed to referring to a donkey, in these times it's an insult. Easier just to bleep it out and disable the flamers from using it in a negative fashion.

When you consider the meaning of the word in the bible as compared to the general meaning of the word today, you can see that what was once a commonplace, acceptable word has become offensive to many.

Because, in the bible it is referred to as the donkey, now it is considered an offensive word, due to it being continually taken out of context.

When that word is written in the Bible, it is in reference to a donkey.

In the Bible, when it says "@ss", it is meaning a donkey. Because "@ss" is another word for a donkey... So when it was being used in the Bible, it wasn't being used in the term people now-a-days use it, (as someones rear).

That has to do with the meaning!

Example: I bought an *** to plow my field.

Another example: I have 10 asses to plow the field, and one for the outhouse.

Now, if either I asked you to kiss, it would have to be bleeped, not that I am, it's an example!!

You shouldn't be so anal about it (pun intended).

Wow! it did bleep it...cool!

No real reason. People just want to keep from hurting anyones feelings it seems. Anymore, too many are looking for the bad side of words or names, in order to find fault.
Like names of school teams etc
