I am thinking about turbocharging my 1995 nissan maxima...
I have seen a turbo kit for about 1000 dollars with shipping and other accessories. How much hp would it give me roughly??
I know stock it has 190hp and 193 tq.
Also, is that a standart price for a turbo kit? And how much would it cost me to install it in an auto shop?

First off i would like to say that i wouldn't run much more than 7 psi on the stock internals of your engine. The vg30 motor is very strong and well built, however will detonate under high boost. The general rule of thumb when boosting a car as far as horsepower numbers are considered is 10 hp per 1 psi of boost. So say for instance your running 7psi you will likely gain somewhere around 70 horsepower... Also $1000 is really cheap for a turbo kit; if your going to do it do it right and stay clear of those cheap homemade ebay turbo kits. Don't settle for anything less than name brand when it comes to turbo components because believe me cheap turbos will yield cheap results. Also make sure you realize that with turboing a car comes the need for fuel management without the right mixture of air to fuel your car could lean out and detonate.

a turbo kit, depending on the turbocharger would usually give you roughly about a 25% increase in hp.

a typical turbo + install is going to cost you around 2,500 dollars.

Turbo installation is just the starting point of many installments of cash. I caution you your engine a 3.0 liter is high compression and turbo charging rases compression even more pinging or detonation will quickly destroy that 13 year old motor. Hope you opt for a water cooled turbo and neccessary engine management upgrades. What about inter cooler? larger injectors more air means more fuel. The power increase is directly proportioned to the amount of money you throw into the project.
