Your local ASPCA or even a veterinarian can give you this information. I pray the dog is okay and someone will adopt it. The police (but don't call 911) can help you too with phone numbers. Usually a number is given in the front of your phone book. Thank you so much for caring and helping this poor dog. I wish you both well .

http://www.chesapeake.va.us/thisweek/pets/index.shtml is your local Animal Control Unit. That link has the number and the opening hours.
http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/VA93.html is the Animal Assistance League, again with their phone number (at the bottom of the page).
http://www.artanimals.org/sheltersgroups.html is a page full of shelters.
I hope this helps. Good luck with getting that poor dog rescued.

There must be some kind of animal control agency in your city. Call them, or call the SPCA or call a shelter (look for the tel # in the Yellow Pages)

look up animal control, or humane society on the internet. you could also call a local vet. they would give you the information, and let you know if the dogs going to be okay. don't call the owner until its been looked at incase its abuse.

The dog obviously knows you don't really want to go out...feed it,mother it and be happy together! The greatest thing you can give it is you,and love-and you won't mistreat it,dogs know where the kind people are. x

You can contact your local animal control but unfortuantly the dog could be put down. Or better yet, contact http://www.hart90.com/ this is a no-kill organisation that takes homeless animals, rehabilitates them and pairs them with seniors for companionship

Look in the blue pages of your phone book (that's the government section). Look up Animal Control or SPCA.
