Terriers are fiesty little animals and one of their traits is they typically have little tolerance for other animals, including other dogs. Their ancestors were bred to hunt and kill vermin. Many continue to project the attitude that they're always eager for a spirited argument.
It is just the nature of a terrier.....

In my experience my border terriers get along fine with
other dogs, perhaps its the way we bring them along
and the stock we breed from. Different lines often reflect
the attitude and environment of the breeders and the best hunters can be the most balanced of all . remember your dog
sees you as a dog and you should be setting the rules of behaviour otherwise any breed will run your life. try making
her sleep on the floor not the bed or the furniture or get a crate
and use that to set some rules and give her time out when
she does not behave and get her spayed, there is no reason for her to be noisey ,owners create most problems.

I did a lot research into getting a dog, one of the breeds I was interested in was a Border Terrier, I opted not to get one because it is a working dog not a pet. It is a dog bred for its hunting instincts and tenacity in catching vermin making it a very high strung dog if its without a proper job to do or kept properly exercised stressing on its prey instinct.

I used to groom a Border Terrier that lived quite happily with 2 other dogs, one smaller, one larger.
There's a Border that comes to my dog park who loves everybody.
It all comes down to proper socializing at a young age, and continued training in adulthood. Terriers naturally work alone hunting vermin, so there is a higher prey drive towards smaller animals, and less of a pack orientation, but proper training and socializing can easily overcome that.

Borders are dazzling little canines. i've got continuously had mutt terriers yet wished a terrier which may be solid with my older (and extremely tetchy) canines, so researched on line lots and got here up with the BT. I had a ***** so I have been given yet another, and she or he's extremely small for the breed, being purely approximately 9 inches on the shoulder. I have been given a domestic dog so as that the older canines might have a clean run at being the boss and it worked brilliantly. The BT is now the main friendly, sociable, superb behaved little domestic dog ever. She become (and is) slightly obdurate, yet learns VERY speedy - swifter than the different canines i've got owned and is wonderful with all people and different canines. I took her out oftentimes and enable enormous canines sniff her throughout, which controlled her organic over-self assurance. Now she's effective and submissive approximately coming near different canines, yet continuously waiting to play whilst they have stated hi. She's additionally been outstanding with sheep and different livestock like horses. My older canines is solid around sheep and with loads of treats and compliment, the domestic dog become ignoring sheep via the age of six months. There are some drawbacks to the breed which you need to prefer to understand approximately as they're minor and positively conquer. a million they ought to be stripped to keep away from laying off. that's unquestionably achieved via hand (there are numerous web content on line which instruct you the way and that i've got been given the carry of it speedy). 2 they're between the few terriers which will run to fat, so attempt to get yours involved in chasing a ball as quickly as achievable to earnings from her walks! 3 They do extremely go through in the warmth, so please evaluate that in case you reside someplace extremely heat. I stay in England which isn't time-commemorated for its tropical climate, yet there have been some days this summer time the place my domestic dog has extremely been way too warm. I shop a splash pool in the backyard for her to climb into, notwithstanding that's some thing to evaluate. 4 curiously they're great diggers and get away artists yet i've got not had a issue with mine. i've got continuously enjoyed having mutts yet this little BT has switched over me and that i will never get something now! wish you have relaxing. :-)

Most terriers are generally aggressive towards other dogs. It's in their nature.

"Most terrier breeds are remarkably similar. The same words are used over and over -- quick to bark, quick to chase, lively, bossy, feisty, scrappy, clever, independent, stubborn, persistent, impulsive, intense."
In short they are Terriers. They were bred in part to hunt badgers for goodness sakes, they are feisty, intense little dogs.
