Maybe you have started hearing about it, but people have been expecting the end of times for a very long time.

Just look at history! Ever generation has thought that they were living in the end of times and they were all wrong so far! LOL We could be living in the end of time but I'd rather just let God take care of it. You're supposed to "live every day as if it were your last" anyway! So just stop worrying. God knows and we don't, it's that simple.
Haha, I'm not sure you're right about it not being talked about 10 years ago. There is a book at my library that says that 1994 will be the year the world ends! LOL I bet the author of that feels silly now.

Really, the "end of the world" stuff has been talked about for centuries. The only reason it's increased lately is because of the years 2000 and 2012, two years that people have always associated with "end times prophecy".
Yes, it's talked about a lot, but that doesn't mean it's going to happen. Certainly there are some horrible things happening on this planet at the moment, but it's not the utterly hopeless situation that everyone makes it out to be. Yes, we still have hurricanes and wars, but human civilization has gotten through plenty of difficult periods of time in the past, and we'll get through this one too. Nothing is going to end; we'll survive.

your question is a valid one, why all the talk about end times now? let me see if I can make you understand this, here in america we don't worry about hurricanes for most of the year right? but as soon as it starts hurrican season, the talk begins. And it's the exact same thing with the end times subject, two thousand years ago Jesus warned his disciples that these things would occur, all they had to do was to just simply observe the signs of the times, everything that He predicted concerning the things to come before His appearing, are happening like clockwork, and the closer to His coming, the more things get stirred up. For those who don't believe, they won't even realize that it took place until after it has come, but suddenly about roughly 1 million people from all across the globe will dissappear without a trace, that includes, babies still inside their unsaved mother's womb, among others. If they have been saying for thousands of years that this is going to happen, then it is safe to assume that we are alot closer in this generation to "it" materializing than ever before.

There has been some things that seem to attack religion in the world and usually when that happens, people will turn back to the predictions of the bible or what ever holy book they follow. The attacks or challenges can be a number of things from war to removing nativity scenes from courthouse lawns.

End Times, All The Time.
My grannie even took the day off from work in 1914 and waited in Montreal along with the rest for the end.

No one knows when the end of times will come. Like a thief in the night they say. I personal believe that when enough people stop believing in God that is when the end times will happen. If you look into the past God usually destroys the world when only a handful of TRUE believers are left. Watch the news and speak with people. Ask them how they feel about God. The end will come when faith is at its lowest point and men think themselves the most in control. Watch the news and like you said Brace yourself.

I think it's a reaction by the Christians to the decline of religion in society. For 2000 years they've been able to manipulate people with horrific images of people being crucified and fed to lions but in today's world with TV and the Internet, those images just don't hold the shock value they used to. So their plan B is to try to scare people into believing by talking about the end of the world. And with pollution, climate change, energy shortages etc, 'end times' scenarios are not that hard to believe by ignorant people.

all of the bible is based on prophecy.. meaning the information contained within it comes from someplace in the future... the purpose of the bible is to prevent these prophecies from occuring... the prophecies read events that naturally occur through the evolution process... so what is the actual effect of the "preaching" of the bible. it's like holding back the future, holding back the truth... preventing or changing natural evolution and events... if the world had no religion the world would be a much better place... every war, every murder is simply a plan to destroy those who would contribute to the positive growth in the world.... through the catholic church there is 2000 years of this holding back of information from humanity... Religions are designed to enslave the human race... 5 years of non ending hard battle to be heard.. that is what we are going through right now... we the human race have built up technology, proving we have the capacity of congnitive thought.. how ever measured against what we don't know about the planet we live on... nature, spirit, what makes life and life work... we don't know these for that is what the bible seeks to keep us from knowing ... Chirstianity is ignorance in it's highest forms.. and if we don't start seperating ourselves from these practices the human race is destined to be wiped off of the face of the earth.... for the practice of reigion is the rejection of nature and nature is the laws of life not religion.... What is the end times? a time for humanity to either join nature and leave religions.... looking at the world and the religious influences fighting and blinding humanity.... I don't have much choice.. here's my experience of the human race... they disagree with a religion and instead of walking away from it.. they change the evil empire to suit them... in the meantime they join the chirstians in persecuting those originally fighting for the changes... so you are killing your heros...... if the human race is made extinct I for one believe the world would be better off without them...

Nah, initially you do no longer intend to make generalizations. the top of my existence isn't good judgment and reason. See, interior the tip, we in common terms understand lots. there are various gaps in our know-how. yet we DO understand some stuff. Now take what we don't understand. Is there any reason, any reason in any respect, to fill it with God? God is in common terms a scapegoat, yet another word for "we don't understand." maximum atheists are no longer asserting God is impossible- we additionally do no longer declare a secret underground wizarding international like that of Harry Potter is impossible. We nevertheless do snicker on the thought despite if; there is merely no evidence to characterize considered one of those element, and in my techniques they're the two the two laughable. one element you learn from quantum physics is that precis reasoning does little or no whilst we predict of of extremes. "good judgment" interior the organic, mathematical experience is rather diverse from "good judgment" interior the colloquial experience. interior the colloquial experience its truly the comparable as "difficulty-unfastened experience" and there is not any difficulty-unfastened experience at extremes, as difficulty-unfastened experience comes from our accrued stories. no one has experienced the interplay between quarks or universes, so it does not make "difficulty-unfastened experience." I advise you place self assurance in arithmetic instead.
