There is so much symbolism and misdirection in the bible... that it's better to not beleive... EX:
"There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light." the John refered to here is none other than John Lennon.... for the one he knew as the light is the woman... persecuted for knowing the truth and she says to him... I may know the truth but what you have done with it is greater than what I have or can do.... So you can read it ... and understand the philosophy to a better world but the minute a christian interprets it you only hear the devil's version of the world so why bother.....
It's better to deny the bible all together than get sucked into the christian version of it...

"howcome then that in that time - when people did not had the same intelect as now on daily life-, can come with such great and inspiring tellings of how earth was created?"
Perhaps you haven't heard that the earth was NOT created in that fashion, nor was it 'created' at all. The Genesis account of creation is factually incorrect. The Bible is inconsistent and contradictory. Much of it was written hundreds of years after the fact, and with little to no accuracy.
The answer is simple: they were a simple people, with simple understandings, who came up with WRONG answers.

Reasons not to believe in the bible, undone.
1. Bible was written by men.
The bible was written by men with inspiration for the good of the person to believe in hope, faith, and love.
2. Bible has too many mistakes.
What mistakes? You mean double meanings? One has one meaning, the other has the opposite meaning?
The bible was written and has some two point of view topics. The bible was meant to be a double edge sword. It pierces the heart. The double meanings are ways for this sword to pierce.
The sword is not meant to pierce to harm. It pierces to let nothing hide from it.
3. The world was not created, it was brought into by a big bang. The world was created by a loving God who gave man his own form is much more believable than the earth was expanding and then things happened like animals being developed and humans developed with no one in charge of it.
4. Evolution is true and the bible is not because the bible was written by men and evolution came from...?

Because I used to.
And taught it to others.
And taught evangelism using it too.
But wanting to handle it correctly, and not teach that was untrue, I studied it with great care, in great depth.
And finally had to admit that at core, neither the bible nor Christianity was what it claiimed to be.
Too many inconsistencies, too many "texts of terror".
Don't look first for your favourite uplifting verses. Look for what else is there, in this collection of texts allegedly divinely inspired and inerrant.
(if not inerrant, as originally given at least, and not divinely preserved, (and why not?) then there's a whole other can of worms)
The injustices not condemned. The little slips of detail or number that wouldn't matter in a human history.
Start with something easy, like the question of the end of Mark's gospel: what should it be, and why are those other endings there? And what does that say about the history and transmission and value of the text?

why don't i believe in the bible? because it was written by men - and they tend to make mistakes. imho, some priests longe ago figured out that most people are too stupid to be good if they don't have some kind of sanction waiting for them. and by writing down a myth on how the earth was created and is going to be destroyed, they could make sure that people would keep following them and their teachings. haven't you researched about other religions, including the ones that don't exist anymore? religions that you would call archaic and simply stupid have the same basic principle as christianity and other religions. wonder what that could mean.
and anyway - just because i don't believe in noah and moses, that does NOT mean that i don't believe in the existence of good and evil or the necessity of being good. why can't christians understand THAT?

Oh, I believe in the Bible. I can see it, touch it, and read it. It's right there and provable to exist.
It's passages like the one below that keep me from wanting to believe it is truth:
Isaiah 13:13-16 – "Therefore I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place at the wrath of the LORD Almighty, in the day of his burning anger. Like a hunted gazelle, like sheep without a shepherd, each will return to his own people, each will flee to his native land. Whoever is captured will be thrust through; all who are caught will fall by the sword. Their infants will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses will be looted and their wives ravished."
I'm sure not many faithful women are aware of ditties like this, either:
1 Timothy 2:11-12 – "A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent."
Beautiful, isn't it? Wise words?!? Really? Hmm...

Do you know how many times the bible has been re-written and edited? All these new "versions" are just ridiculous new ways of making whom ever is in power have more control over the masses. I don't assume to know what happens when we die, because all things are possible. Dont be so closed minded to think that Heaven is the only thing that could happen after death, you have no way of finding out.

It's a good work of fiction.
I didn't quite enjoy it as much as I enjoyed The Fellowship of the Ring, but it was sure better than The Silmarillion, or, at least easier to comprehend.
Though no Tolkien took part in writing the Bible, some of those guys were pretty creative, I must admit, especially considering they have all these idiots taking their stories for literal truth.
Which leads me to quote another great character of fiction, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Knight, who said "Who is the more foolish: the fool or the fool that follows him?"

I don't believe in the buybull for the same reason you don't believe in the Koran, the Torah, the book of Moron... I mean Mormon etc. As far as I'm concerned it's just a book written by a bunch of frat guys with an agenda.
The idea is you're an atheist to all gawds but the Xian one. I'm an atheist to one more gawd than you are.

If as you say "the word was God" then reversing the equation means God was just a word. God didn't write the Bible, people did. People created God in their image, not vice versa. Since you can't prove the existence of God, why would you expect anybody else to share your supernatural beliefs?
