Hearing is not the same as speaking, in the same way that offence can only be taken, not given. It's up to the person perceiving the insult to interpret it as such.
I hear 'bad words' all the time, but in context they are harmless. Other times I hear good words used in ways that are potentially extremely harmful.
I think all religions try in some way to control those that believe, censorship is just one way.

I think that it should be up to each individuals strengths. If a person can't watch a movie with a few bad words in it, without then using those words, then no they should not watch it. But I watch action movies all the time, they use a lot of those words also. But I like action and scifi. But I worked with the public for over thirty years and it did not cause me to go around spouting off the words I heard every day. My faith is strong enough to get past that. So as I said, it is up to each persons walk with God as to what they should or should not watch. We will always here things in public that we would rather not hear, but that is the way of the world. But, to not hear them, one would have to live in a cave and never come out. They even have some words on prime time tv now. That is just my opinion, and it may not agree with others.

First we'd prefer to confirm what it become like at its beginnings. regrettably it somewhat is almost impossible. we've some small glimpses of what it become like in the previous 314AD yet they're very constrained and have been very heavily rewritten. After 327 the Christians had administration of the ability of the Roman Empire and commenced a extreme marketing campaign to exterminate all relegions, sects and faiths that they considered as opposition, and all records that did no longer consider their Catholic version of Christianity. They observed this coverage of exterminating each and every guy or woman with different innovations appropriate up until 1640 whilst they misplaced the reformation wars. So your question approximately if the early Christians have been a solid or undesirable team isn't answerable from early Christian historic past. Early Christian historic past only does not exist. It easily does not seem to have been a solid issue judging via later outcomes.

Tough issue.
There are certain societal standards, but once you open the door to censorship, it's hard to tell how wide it will open.
For example, I dislike the idea of Christians dictating what is right or wrong on the air, but on the other hand, I would oppose the opening of a KKK Channel.
It has to do with community standards. f a particular religious group has a problem with something, I agree with you: "Just don't watch it". On the other hand, if a very vast majority of the population can agree something is not only offensive, but actually harmful as well, then the legislators should step in. But I would reserve that only for extreme cases (such as a KKK Channel).

Yes, Christianity tends to censor things out.
In extreme cases, Christianity will never mention another world religion at all in their church service nor will they even mention national events such as 09-11-2001. Some Christian churches will never mention the name of any president of the United States.
If it's not mentioned in the Bible, it won't be mentioned in the church.
Recently TBN has started a 24 hours a day children's TV station where everything is Christian only.
All secularism/other religions are censored out.

The funny thing about bad wirds is that the more you censor them, the stronger they become.
You can see it happening here.
Here in Y!A you can also see the parallel words get sronger and all of the spelling variants get attempted.
Often the "Bad" words are words that are common words in everyday use. Words like the nickname for Richard. From banning that word we get Dick Cheney. Donkey instead of ***, even though they are not quite the same thing.
There are many more examples.
If the moralists were really as pure minded as they claim to be then no words would be thought of *** "Bad" words.

Christianity has a long ugly history of censorship from its very inception. The churches long history of execution and torture of "heretics" is censorship at its most extreme, luckily they don't get away with that so much these days.
Over the last century or so, they've turned to the more insidious form of censorship, trying to kill concepts that they don't like. The switch from burning non-believers to burning books is a sideways one at best, since one can protect oneself from bible humpers with torches, but it's hard to get exposed to ideas that have been censored...
And really, don't you think we should be past the point in human social development where certain words and phrases are considered "bad" anyway?
What the poster was really asking was this: "Might watching this movie expose me to alternate ways of thinking and behaving, possibly causing my mind to open up a little, causing some of the religion to fall out?"

I think adults should moderate what kids watch and in these shows there should be no foul language. Kids after the age of thirteen hear that kind of language on the playground more than they will probably ever hear it at home. If you do the best you can to explain what some of the words mean and why they are sometimes used then it is up to the kid to distinguish what is right and wrong. Hopefully they will treat the rest of society with the same respect they treat their parents with at home. GOD BLESS!!!

I disapprove of censorship on general principles, but especially for such trivial reasons. I have grudgingly accepted that parental rights are involved in the movie rating system, but I would rather not have any censorship of any kind. People who can handle a gory or a sexy movie should not be hindered by those who cannot. It's like banning steak because some people can only digest oatmeal.

Even the Original Kingdom Gospel that Jesus preached has been censored in Christianity... It was about light coming into the world. It has been replaced by Paul's gospel of sacrifice.
Light and Enlightenment is considered Heresy now. Too bad.
