This is really a question for your doctor as he knows your medical history much better than I do along with allergies, ect. But I am a nurse in a psychiatric unit and I have many patients who take abilify and also take zoloft, trazodone, elavil, pamelor. You need to think about what your symptoms were when you were taking the lexapro and why you didn't like it or couldn't take it...some of the above meds could act the same way for you. Good luck.

I was on Lexapro and Abilify (plus Klonopin) and it worked well for me. I'm now taking 300 mg of Effexor with the Abilify and it works even better.

Since you'll need to see a prescriber anyway to get the meds, why not ask them?

For research I recommend crazymeds.org, but it's changed now. Use the wayback machine (internet archive)... http://www.archive.org/web/web.php and type in crazymeds.org

or use this link... http://web.archive.org/web/20070710145908/http://www.crazymeds.org/
