There can't be a loving God.

By my observations, God, if he/she/it exists, must be both good and evil.

Well, here's the deal. God created a freakin' awesome and perfect world and put this dude and his chick in a cool garden. Then Satan came and screwed everything up by tempting this chick to disobey God. She and her husband ate some kind of fruit that God said not to touch (I've always wondered what kind of fruit it was) Then everything got messed up because this little thing called "sin" entered the picture.

So basically, God had a cool plan for a perfect world, but Satan and Adam and Eve screwed it up. So the world and it's problems are not God's fault!

Certainly you have hit upon one of the major reasons many people do not believe in god. But it's only one of the more glaring contradictions. The reason I find it impossible to accept the idea of a supreme being is that the Infinite is always portrayed as having finite characteristics. Judgment, preference, gender. If god is god, he can't be a "he" or a "she." He can't be both finite and infinite at the same time.

Because there isn't a god that sits and passes judgement on anyone or anything. How could any kind and loving entity let children or babies die? Your soul is the only thing you have to worry about. Being a good moral person will allow your soul to go where you believe you should go when you die. God is a figment of people's imagination. They don't want to deal with reality and they need something to follow to make themselves feel better.

there is an exceedingly sturdy khutbah via Hamza Yusuf entitled "17 reward of tribulation." In it he makes a element that society has a tendency to work out adversity as being evil and not a introduction of God. yet you're making an magnificent element, Brother, that adversity could, actually, be threat. we are only human and can't understand why, working example, God creates little ones with disabilities. yet "He it particularly is Who shapes you interior the wombs as He pleases. there is no god yet He, the Exalted in ought to, the smart." (3:6) except you discover ways to believe God's plan--no count how little you would be able to appreciate it--and except you do no longer discover ways to view our front into one yet another's lives as bridges to discovering, then you particularly will probably in basic terms see God's movements as merciless and unfair. Asalaamu alaikum!

This is THE question that satan uses to blind non-believers.
SIN entered the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden.
SIN has ruled this world ever since.
God, on the other hand has, since before the foundation of the earth, offered a way for man to escape the punishment due sin.
That Way is Christ Jesus.

It's called Free Will. Yes there is a lot of badness, evil and suffering in this world but can you imagine what qualities would be missing in Man if there was no suffering, disease, illness, war, starvation etc., There are many qualities that would not exist if it were not for the badness in the world. Compassion, empathy, sympathy, charity, hope, faith, and a lot more....these would not be needed. How long would Mankind survive without the goodness and the evilness.

That's a question they've been analyzing and arguing about for millennia. The branch of theology that analyzes this is called "theodicy." Google it for all the information you'd ever want on the subject.

if you know anything about the story of Job in the bible, his whole family, his cattle, everything was taken from him as a test of his faith. You just have to believe that everything happens for a reason and that God has a bigger plan for us than we can see. And if you've ever read the book of Revalations, it says the world will be a horrible place before it is destoryed, b
