When my mother passed away, I had this dream. It was so real, I questioned myself if it was a dream.

I was dreaming the phone was ringing and it's tone sounded strange.

I answered it and the voice on the other end said I don't want you to be affraid. This is your mother. I am just calling you to tell you everything is alright. Tell your brothers that I called and tell them everything is alright.

She said I love you and tell your brothers I love them. And she hung up.

I woke up crying. And there is no doubt in my mind this call, this message was from my mother who is now with the Lord.

Are our loved ones with us? I believe they are with Jesus, but I believe that sometimes contact can be made and I believe they do watch over us.

Yet, this only pertains to those who go to heaven. Those who go to the other place do not know what happens on earth.

when dad died I had the same feeling that he was always near me for the next 2 years. I mean it is all about connect with your loved one that retains the spirit. After I got my sister married he was a happy soul I suppose slowly moved away. In the meanwhile I too got busy with my professional tension. Thus I lost touch with my dad's spirit I suppose. But I am sure he still blesses or warns me when I am in trouble. The connect is because of we were born on same month and day only year was different. I think many people can achieve connect without being scared, we have to be open to this concept.

No, they are not with us. Nor can they hear our prayers or concerns. I remember a Bible verse that said that there would be no more tears. This may be a leap but how could they hear our concerns or see our misfortunes and not cry? This does not mean I believe they are already in Heaven or in a waiting room or rotting in the ground until the clarion call. I am OK with all three ideas because I know that the end result is the same they cannot hear or see us and they are waiting(after a fashion) or already in heaven or...

We do not need them to hear or see us either. We have the Spirit to guide us, Jesus to intercede for us and a loving God to bring it all together. He did not need help in the beginning and since he is the Alpha and the Omega he will not need us in the end.

"Upon the fundamental error of natural immortality rests the doctrine of consciousness in death–a doctrine, like eternal torment, opposed to the teachings of the Scriptures,to the dictates of reason, and to our feelings of humanity. According to the popular belief, the redeemed in heaven are acquainted with all that takes place on the earth and especially with the lives of the friends whom they have left behind. But how could it be a source of happiness to the dead to know the troubles of the living, to witness the sins committed by their own loved ones, and to see them enduring all the sorrows, disappointments, and anguish of life? How much of heaven's bliss would be enjoyed by those who were hovering over their friends on earth? And how utterly revolting is the belief that as soon as the breath leaves the body the soul of the impenitent is consigned to the flames of hell! To what depths of anguish must those be plunged who see their friends passing to the grave unprepared, to enter upon an eternity of woe and sin! Many have been driven to insanity by this harrowing thought.
What say the Scriptures concerning these things? David declares that man is not conscious in death. "His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish." Psalm 146:4. Solomon bears the same testimony: "The living know that they shall die: but the dead know not anything." "Their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun." "There is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10."(Great Controversy 1911, pages 545-546)

Only in our memories.
Bible readers understand the true condition of the dead. It's compared to sleep.
Eccl. 9:5, 10 "For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.... 10 All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in She′ol, the place to which you are going."

Yes I do. They may be in heaven (if you are Christian or Catholic) but they can visit us down in Earth. If you are into stuff like paranormal or something like that they can send a message like a sound or some kind of noise they make. They can also show their image like a shadow to know they're here for you.

I believe it's very possible...

One of my daughters misses one of her great grandparents who died exactly one month before she was born. What was amazing is that she would tell me that she missed this person, but that person's name was never mentioned, so we have no idea how she knew this person's name. She would mention this when she was away from the house. Our house is old and she and other kids have seen what might be considered ghosts in our house.

This person was definitely a Christian and so are we. We have no other explanation other than the woman looks amazingly like the pictures of this woman we showed our daughter when she was older.

In memories
In genetics
In what they've given us or not given us to help us
Sure, they're always with us.

In spirits
In heaven
In smiling down on us making our lives more sunny
Of course not. That's make believe.
