According to the Qu'ran Jesus formed a bird and gave it life.
Does this mean Muslims have more than one creator?
Christians believe in one God who created everything that exist.
How many creators do Muslims have?

All of you seem to think creator means God.
then according to the Qu'ran Jesus is a God.
Is this a contradiction in the Qu'ran that Jesus created life?

Heather, Mothers do not form bodies and breath life into them.
God creates us all in our mother's wombs.
God is our creator not mom.
Jesus did not give birth to a bird he formed it and gave it life.

egypsy, the Qu'ran does not say Allah created the bird...If this sura is a lie then you are correct.
the sura says Jesus formed the bird and gave it life.

Ray, You are correct the story was plagerized from the gnostic gospel. The point I'm making is not to the truth of the story but as to whether Jesus is a seperate creator according to the Qu'ran

pineapple, The Qu';ran says Jesus formed the bird this even by Allah's allowence makes Jesus a creator of life. Allah did not create this bird nor did he give it life. Some of the creation on this earth is apparently the creation of Jesus according to your Qu'ran. Allah is not the only creator but he insist on being called the only god.

2007-11-03 11:05:13 · update #5

Nat. Who is god? If not our creator than what makes him our God? If more than one can create even by God's allowence we then have more than one God more than one creator which Allah is extrmely opposed to. What we have is Allah allowing Jesus to be a creator.....God but denying at the same time that Jesus is a god....a clear contradiction if Allah is opposed to more than one God he could not have his creation creating and being creators of other creations. The Qu'an insist there is one God but here you have more than one creator.

vb the bird did not create anything. Jesus created the bird and shares with Allah the creation of the world if the Qu'ran was to be believed.

Al Qiyamah

I do not believe this story the answer can be found in the true word of God.
There is ONE God and he created the entire world and everything that was created was created by him alone.
Jesus is the Son of God a part of the whole of God who became flesh everything was created by him and without him was not one thing created that was created read John 1.

With leave of Allah or without leave of Allah..Who according to your Qu'ran gave this bird life Jesus or Allah? The Quran says Jesus formed the bird and Jesus gave it life this clearly makes Jesus the creator of this creation whether or not it was allowed by Allah.
Allah can not claim to be the sole creator of everything if he allowed Jesus to create life.
He now is one of the creators of this world according to YOUR Qu'ran. Jesus is a creator of the world and a seperate god according to the Qu'ran. This is not what I believe as I believe God is one Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

DA Man as I ahve already said whether with permission of Allah or no. The Qu'ran has Jesus creating life and therfore a seperate God.
If Allah and Jesus are seperate and Allah allows Jesus to create life....He allowed Jesus to be a creator of life by definition a god....You have yourself a problem Allah wants to be the only God yet allows Christ to create life.

2007-11-03 11:41:19 · update #13

kr,,,, does man create life? If a man can create life is he not by definition a god? Is not your God your creator? Do we have one God and a differnt creator? Did Allah create the world or did Allah and someone else?

2007-11-03 11:47:28 · update #14

mhd regardless......again I say whether or no allowed by Allah Jesus created life, Now the Allah of the Qu'ran insist there is ONE God but clearly he is not the only creator.
To the unlearned me this seems to be a contradiction... if Allah is so determined to be the only God why would he allow a man to create a living creature?

5:110. Then will Allah say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Recount My favour to thee and to thy mother. Behold! I strengthened thee with the holy spirit, so that thou didst speak to the people in childhood and in maturity. Behold! I taught thee the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel and behold! thou makest out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My leave, and thou breathest into it and it becometh a bird by My leave, and thou healest those born blind, and the lepers, by My leave. And behold! thou bringest forth the dead by My leave. And behold! I did restrain the Children of Israel from (violence to) thee when thou didst show them the clear Signs, and the unbelievers among them said: 'This is nothing but evident magic.'

In this sura Allah allows Jesus to create a bird from clay...... thou makest out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My leave,
Then Jesus breaths life into the clay bird and it becomes a living bird.

2007-11-03 18:31:09 · update #16

....by My leave, and thou breathest into it and it becometh a bird by My leave.... All the by my leaves in the world does not change the fact Jesus made the bird and Jesus breathed life into the bird....Jesus created the bird and gave it life he is the creator of this bird.
Now Allah is not the sole creator of this world but is joined with Christ in the creation of this world according to the Qu'ran which claims there is only ONE God.

JD: djmantx, you have to unjderstand that Jesus' ability to create a bird and breathe life into it BY ALLAH'S WILL AND HIS POWER is something optional, ie ALLAH gave him a temporary power to do this.

Again even and I agree, according to the Qu'ran the power to create this creation came from Allah, Even So.....I say Jesus was allowed to be the birds creator.....This means there is more than one creator in Islam.
Then Qu'ran is very clear Jesus formed the bird from clay and Jesus breathed life into the bird. This bird is the creaton of Jesus not Allah but Jesus is allowed to be the creator of this creation....This makes Jesus a creator of some of the beings of this world according to the Qu'ran...So according to Islam there can not be one creator unless Jesus and Allah are one, which we would agree that according to the Qu'ran they are not...The Qu'ran says Jesus is not a God but says also that Jesus created a creation by leave of Allah

2007-11-03 19:31:36 · update #18

JD cont.... More than one creator even by Allah's leave is still more than one creator...All of the wise words of any man does not change this fact Allah siad he allowed Christ to create life thereby Allah allowed Christ to be a creator which we know a creator is a god, This is a contradiction that Allah claims to be the only one God yet allows Jesus to create life.

If the Qu'ran has that story in it(about Yahshua forming a bird and giving it life)......
It just proves that Mohammed PLAGIARIZED ancient texts. The story is in an apocryphal book(don't remember the name at the moment), and tells of Yahshua as a child, including the above, and also taking the life of another child.
Mohammed is not a prophet, just another false teacher that stuck through the centuries.

The very basic foundation of Islam is belief in ONE Almighty God. If you want to accept Islam you will have to testify- there is no god but Allah and Mohammad (pbuh) is His Messenger (not God). He did miracles by the command of God.
Luke 23:46 Jesus said "Father (GOD), into thy hands I commend my spirit"?
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 8:28 Jesus said "I do nothing of myself"? Can't GOD do anything he wills?
If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 14:28 Jesus said "My Father (GOD) is greater than I
If Jesus is believed to be GOD because he could do miracles, he could heal leprosy, he could cause blind men to see, or raise the dead, then what about the others who performed the same miracles?
Elisha and Elijah fed a hundred people with twenty barley loaves and a few ears of corn (2 Kings 4:44). Elisha told Naaman, who was a leper, to wash in the river Jordan (2 Kings 5:14) and he was healed. Elisha caused a blind man to see in (2 Kings 6:17,20). Elijah and Elisha raised the dead in (1 Kings 17:22, and 2 Kings 4:34). Even Elisha's dead bones restored a dead body in (2 Kings 13:21). Indeed Jesus had prophesied that people will worship him uselessly and will believe in doctrines not made by GOD but by men "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (Matthew 15:9)"

djmantx, you have to unjderstand that Jesus' ability to create a bird and breathe life into it BY ALLAH'S WILL AND HIS POWER is something optional, ie ALLAH gave him a temporary power to do this. GOD could have not given him this power, but yet HE gave him this power and it was GOD's will that this power would be temporarily. Regarding ALLAH's power to create, this is an obligatory attribute of GOD, ie we do not say that GOD possesses the attribute of power because HE willed that! GOD's attribute of power is beginingless and endless; pre-eternal and everlasting. Jesus' power is created, but GOD's power is uncreated of course. See the difference? The REAL creator of the bird was GOD. GOD created Jesus and his verbs. Again, GOD is not a spirit; as the Christians claim. Spirits are of GOD's creations; just like bodies, dimensions, shapes, space, time, etc...Jesus' ability to create is a prophet's miracle; just like Moses' speech to GOD and Moses splitting the sea in two with one strike! Prophets and their miracles are of GOD's creation.

Just as I have said before, you have to read a lot about theology and the concept of the Creator (GOD). Please try buying some books regarding the Ash'ari OR Maturidi doctrine. You NEED to study this first; otherwise you sound more like an illeterate who believes he could read and write so fluently that he could challenge the fastest readers and greatest writers!

Good luck!

3:49 "And (appoint him) an apostle to the Children of Israel, (with this message): 'I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah's leave: And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I quicken the dead, by Allah's leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe.'"

If Jesus did it all by himself, I don't think he would have bothered to say "by Allah's leave." Do you?

ok, you seem to have misread something, or read a version of the quran translated by a christian or something, but Jesus could only do that by the will of God, and he ONLY gave life to clay models of BIRDS, NOT ppl

2007-11-03 11:36:47 · answer #6 · answered by Anonymous · 0 1

He gave life to the dead and that was with God's permission and was one of the miracles of Jesus.Jesus prayed to God to give the bird life,so God accepted his prayer and gave it life...So,God's power is there...Jesus would require God in giving the bird life but God will not require Jesus for creating anything..Now tell me who is superior,God or Jesus?Definitely God...You,urself said that God permitted Jesus to give life to the bird...Well, in muslims perspective God is one who doesnt require permission from anyone for doing anything.......So God has power overall things and not Jesus. If God wanted,he would have rejected his prayer and didnt give the bird life..One who has power over all things is God according to muslims, and that is only ALLAH.
there r so many people working in the industries and creating different things,so you mean they r also creators and thus they all are gods....a fool like you should say that anyone who creates anything(table,chair,computer,... ruler etc) is god.hahaha!..U sound very funny....
there is also written in several places in the Quran that Allah is merciful and kind.....But we see that there are many people in the the world who are merciful and kind as well.....Now you would say they all are gods....well,fool!this doesnt make them god......people will be kind and merciful but they will not be kind and merciful like Allah....Allah is the most kind and most merciful.....
In short, God doesnt require anything for creating anything......And in muslims perspective, that is God....now Jesus required God for giving life to the bird,so Jesus isnt God because God has power over Jesus..So God IS NOT EQUAL TO Jesus....
BOTTOMLINE: Jesus is not GOD.
Christians believe in 3 in 1 God,not in only One God.

wouldnt it be only still one creator because jesus created the bird which created other things. If your saying that the bird repersents another creator wouldnt parents as well repersent creators. So what im saying is the brid was created by jesus to create other things but it all revolves around the one person who created it. There can only be one creator

Muslims have only one god/creator.

They believe that there were many profits though, including Jesus, but that Muhammad was the last profit & the one to start the religion of Islam. Although all of the profits they recognize as true profits, spoke of Allah by different names.

According to you Jesus created A life, not life - and wouldn't Allah be strong enough to give him this power?

(I don't believe in any religions btw)

Creator does not mean God - but God does imply creator.
