If you're committed to being a firefighter, then you need to find out what units are near you. It's unlikely there is both a guard & navy reserve firefighter unit in your area, so you may not have those choices.

Far as the job, navy would focus more on what you do on ships, which is a whole other kind of firefighting, and Army is more like the civilian job on base, and a wildland firefighter otherwise, especially in the guard.

Personally neither, regular ol' firefighting works for me..but if i had a choice id go with the one i knew is more in my interest field. with the navy your gonna learn how to knock fire in engine rooms of ships, possible plane fires and those things. I would personally suggest the Coast Guard, i know a few guys that are firefighters with them and if you can get in at Cape May your gonna love being a firefighter there.

Navy

They say every Marine is train in infantry well in the Navy everyone is trained in firefighting. When you are ship and at sea with a fire you can dial 911 but you are it.

if you want to be a civilian FF, then neither: Air Force is the way to go. they have the closest equivalent to civilian FF. all the other branches actually USE civilians on their bases, and FF at sea is NOTHING like it is on land.

Navy DCs do so much more than fight fires. they are responsible for keeping the ship afloat.
