Just like in human battles between nations, the generals tend to focus their troops against one of two groups: 1) those who are weak and easy to defeat, and 2) those who are the biggest threat. People on a spiritual high tend to be more "on fire" for Christ and work more fervently to promote His truth. Thus they are a big threat towards Satan's agenda and he fights to knock them back down.

Two of the best examples are Job (Satan went before God and asked for permission to destroy him) and Peter (Satan asked for permission to sift him like wheat).

Why does Satan get blamed for the resistance or difficulty Christians may be facing in life? How do you or I know when it's Satan or just life that is apparently difficult and resistant? How do you know whether or not that the non-resistant or non-difficult ridden path that you were hoping for is the best thing anyway? The resistance or difficulty that you're facing may be a blessing in disguise (Romans 8:28 and James 1:2-5)?

One of the weaknesses of our faith, or should I say "of our faithful brethren", is that we have to find an answer and a reason to every little thing that we encounter. I believe that there are just too many things in life that will not be explained until we are on the other side looking back (I Corinthians 13:9-13). "Then shall we know . . . "

If you read the book of Job, you will find that a major theme behind the story is that we don't know WHY things happen, especially the bad things that happen to good people. While Satan is said to be behind most of Job's problems, Job's "friends" had other ideas. In their minds, it wasn't Satan. It was Job- i.e. there had to be sin in Job's life for something so disasterous to have happened to him. The text clearly says that Job was not to blame and that he sinned not. Job's friends were wrong. I think that often we are wrong when we put the blame for what appears to be bad always on the back of the devil.

Even, if it is the devil coming at you, did God allow it? If so, why?

Love, joy and peace my dear friend!

Spiritual is not based on emotions that rise and fall. Spiritual is like a rock... ever the same and never changing. Get back to the Original Kingdom Gospel which is based on the light of life, rather than emotions.

"Gospel Enigma: and the Young Heretics" is a free book. It will explain my statement... at New Free Books... right on top.

It only seems that way.
Looking through the scriptures, we see we can be targeted any time at all.
Consider Job, he was pretty much kicked several times while he was down, right? What seems to make someone a target, is the fact that they are PRACTICING a LIVING faith.
When we get dead serious, this is when Satan gets nervous, I believe.

The ruler of this world is exactly that.

Heaven is where God is and hell is where God is not . We are on earth and the ruler of Earth is not God.

There are two terms in the bible: The Kingdom of Heaven and The Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of Heaven is Heaven, where God is. The Kingdom of God is where God is the focus. For Christians, the kingdom of God is Christ in you.

You talk about spirituality as if it were an roller coaster with highs and lows. Spirituality has no valleys and peaks, but man does. When man loose focus on God, the ruler of this world is ready.

I think it is our own fears that haunt us when we are closer to God. We slip into a false sense of security thinking that the whole world is at our command. God is always with us but we should also never imply that God will give us anything we ask. It is at these times that we feel like there is some kind of evil influence bearing down on us. It is also a time of reflection that we must consider the needs of others instead of our own, especially those who persecute you.

You subconsciously believe it that it is 'wrong' for a 'creature of sin' to feel good and so what is happening is that the better you feel, the more doubts and fears you have that the good time will last. The 'attack' is your own fear.

You feel worse now. Why? I did not spiritually attack you. I only pointed out where your perceived attack could have come from. Think about it - my words were seen by your subconscious as a threat to your high.

me and my family got into this i belive and this may just be me but i think that when u start to live ur life like ur suppose to that u know satans there just waiting to temp u away from god.satan will give u anything in the world that is.But there is a high price to pay because he'll give u anything u want so long as you turn away from god dont belive in him so the answer i belive is to tempt you away from god i mean when you look at the world and people u see people who have everything they want (not us) but turn away from god. Then you see the people who work for all their stuff (us) and they belive in GOD so i mean if u want stuff for free but yet at a price choose satan but if u want to go to heaven and know that you worked for everything in your life then choose god so once again the answer is that. satan wants to tempt u away from GOD.
