Just wondering before I make my decescion because I have a bunch of movies on a hard drive.

Ya good question I have one with movies too. But if I were to venture a guess, I would say ya, as long as the format is accepted.

Yes in most of the cases, but some of the external HDDs aren't accepted by PS3 (don't know why, probably XMB issues). That goes to formats too. You can transfer almost any video format with the program from here www.pspvideo9.com

I'm pretty sure you can. If you have a laptop, you can always just switch out the hard drive because the PS3's hard drive is the same thing you'd buy if you bought a hard drive for your laptop.
