<"I'm right and you're wrong and you're stupid because you're wrong".>
No.It goes more like this:
Fundamentalist Christian: I am right because the Bible says I am right and so you are wrong and are going to Hell unless you believe I am right and I shall legislate against you at every turn in order to make sure you know I am right.
Atheist: Get over yourself.

I can back my opinions with facts and experimental evidence. All Fundies have is empty superstition. Why do you assume the personalities of the debaters has any relevence to the issues? There is a very real difference between scientific truth and unsubstantiated superstition. As I see it, the R&S debate revolves around deciding how the universe actually operates and has nothing whatever to do with who has the nicest personality or who is the most popular. It's more like, "I'm right and I can prove it, and you're wrong because you're superstitious and ignorant of the true facts." While everyone is entitled to their own opinion, that does not imply they are necessarily correct.
Are atheists and fundamentalist Christians the same kind of people? No. Atheists are meticulous about their facts, their logic, and their language. Fundies rely almost exclusively on unfounded ancient superstitions to substantiate their position. ...not the same.

Well, there are fundamentalist Atheists, yes. And here in the R&S section of Y!A, the fundie Atheists can be just as insufferable as the fundie Christians. Post a Pagan, Wiccan, Spiritualist, Supernatural, or Magick question, and you'll get it from both sides. Both groups are dogmatic, narrow-minded, insistent that their way is the only way, and that anyone who disagrees with them is uncivilized. Members of both groups have expressed the desire to convert everyone else to their way, or at least expressed the believe that the world would be better off if everyone thought like them. So, yes, they are the same.
And, while it is true that Fundamentalist Christians are the ones pushing their Theocratic agenda through Evangelical polititions, stacking the courts with conservative judges, and passing silly laws in America, Fundamentalist Atheists have made quite a mess in other countries. Lennon and Stalin in Russia, Mao's Cultural Revolution in China, and Robspier's Reign of Terror in France, to name a few. Fundamentalism is Fundamentalism. It doesn't matter if it's Christian, Atheist, or Muslim. All forms of Fundamentalism are harmful for humanity.
So, yes, cut from the same cloth!

Those governments were Communist. I would take great offense any where but here being called a Communist, but the dumbass level in R&S lately has been growing exponentially.
Atheist. Conservative.
FYI Most of the countries mentioned, merely substituted one god for another, the Great Leader, or whatever. Just because a god is not a Christian god, does not make it any less of a god.
That is the main reason why communists hate the church so much, not the god. It is a threat to the leader's omnipotent authority.
Communists and Christians are much more alike than Atheists.

no longer something is worse than energetic lack of know-how. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe "whilst i grew to become right into a baby I spoke as a baby I understood as a baby i concept as a baby; yet as quickly as I grew to become a guy I positioned away infantile issues." I Cor. xiii. 11. regrettably Fundies attack to shame CGod and Chrsitianity! Atheists are compelled to preserve themselves and robust Chrsitians go through for it! all the different religions and atheists stay in peace and are in common terms attacked by undesirable christians which reasons all solid christians to melancholy on the wear they do! Up till approximately 40 years back Christianity grew to become into thriving and there grew to become into no conflict with others yet in merely those few short years the popular christians have become illiberal, hate crammed, bigoted and persecuting ensuing in a turning out to be backlash against christianity and inflicting christianity to unfastened over ten p.c. in below a decade with the loss accelerating! The self destruction of Christianity is underway and the only element which could end that's to desert the damaging human thoughts, seek for to rediscover the assumption of a loving god and act like it!

If the people of New York State aren't careful they'll soon have a law called -- without irony -- the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. This law would enable anybody to claim that he doesn't have to obey certain laws (e.g., the one about not killing abortion providers) or perform certain duties of his job (e.g. ,dispensing contraceptives at a pharmacy) because it conflicts with their religious beliefs.
Tell me again how atheists are exactly like the people supporting this legislation? -- I admit I didn't get it the first time.

I think it has more to do with the type of person you are than with the spiritual path you are on. There are extremist Muslims, fundie Christians, radical athiests, etc. Label them how you want, they all do the same thing. They all act as if they are right and the rest of the world is wrong, and there is no room for discussion. This type of person will likely act that way about his hair, or her clothing. About what type of diet is best, or what TV shows are worth watching. So yeah, fundies are everywhere. Beware!

What you're doing is lumping all atheists along with the militant ones. There are lots of atheists who are not militant.
Buddhism is essentially an atheistic religion. I don't see Buddhists outlawing religion. You need to be careful which brushes you paint with.

yeah! definately! im an atheist. however we have different intensions. cristainity is seriously damaging our societ. i think atheists are only rescently speaking out as they are fed up of fundamentalistsso we adopt their style as a way of mocking and to see their source backfire. with virtue of evidence! but religon is a primative science (as science is always evolving) aso we see it sad to keep it in this primate state. it was all the founders of religion could do to explain the universe. also if you notice as changes in science have tooken place so have religion to keep its self alive. for example the structure of the universe and how the stars were on a membrane souronding the earth and the sun revolving around the earth etc...
i think its sad how some people in modern society see atheistS (especially in the most powerful country in the world, the United Statse of America) as heretics. so do you see the differances in influences, well thats how i feel about these issues. however, i respect other peoples beliefs its nothing to do with me to change them. but yes, i see your point.

Well, both are zealots. Both try hard to convert others to their religion. Both enjoy irritating the other. Both love to judge others. Both use emotion rather than reason to advance their view. So, yes, I would have to say some of each group are very much alike.
