UIC is considered to be a solid school and the best public school in the Chicago area. The average student has an ACT score of 24 and was in the top quarter of his/her high school class.
Other decent schools in the area are University of Chicago, Northwestern, DePaul, and Loyola. A little further out in DeKalb is NIU.
