The problems with this is that each Denomination has it's own rules that are allowed while the others do not
Funny when you sit and think about it, There are only ONE {1} set of rules to follow, but man has decided to change them, thus the different Denominations in Christianity
so my answer is NO, it would never work

Absolutely not.
Unification means compromise, and different denominations do different things for a reason. To me, this is like suggesting that we treat skin so that there are no racial differences, eliminate cultural differences by adopting a standard culture, or force artists to work only within one traditional school. Religion is an expression of culture, and different denominations are cutomized to specific cultural subsets. Some are right, some are wrong, and there is a lot of gray area in between.
But this gets at a bigger problem. "Christianity" is just a word. Different denominations are independent - there is no more connection between a Roman Catholic and a Southern Baptist than there is between a Roman Catholic and a cup of soup. Just because they are both called "Christians" does not imply that they are somehow connected, or that they are somehow members of a larger group. Proposing union between Roman Catholics and Southern Baptists is like proposing union between Roman Catholics and the Ford Motor Company. They are two distinct entities, with no inherent connection other than the fact that outsiders have arbitrarily applied the same label to both.

Most of the New Testament talks about exposing and throwing out false teachers and false teachings. So NO, I will not "unite" with anyone that contradicts the Bible.
Catholics have a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell, so there's no place for "unity" there. As for the other groups, if they believe that the Bible is 100% true and is the final authority, fine. If not, then there is no unity apart from true doctrine.

Yes. Then we can finish that tower of Babel together. At last. And the Hebrews should all unite as one also. Wait, that was their tower now that I think about it. There goes that great idea. Oh well. If the Catholics hadn't been such stinkers back in the medieval days, we wouldn't be talking about this.

It's 2007 almost 2008. They are not yet. Mankind tends to stick to their own opinions. They will not look past the point that maybe someone else is right. If we all could just respect each others ideas we may unite. Till we can honor each other opinions that will not happen

I believe that as we draw closer to the end times, God is going to create in His people a wanting to become one with each other. I think that alot of the demoninational walls will be coming down, and Jesus will be our main focus, loving Him and each other.

Christians are asked to avoid contention. In other words. Don't keep vainly arguing about who is right and wrong over things we cannot agree on. But find things to talk about we can agree on.

At least in the USA currently, many people are stuck in 'status quo' and simply take the approach regarding scripture, 'Agree with me or you are wrong'!!! Perhaps that is why Satan is probably laughing at them currently!!!
