i am 32 yrs old and never been in a gym but i not huge(fat) but i do have more chub than muscle and not surprisingly i dont have a female in my life

30 minutes cardio exercises like treadmill or cycling is fairly enough to a green apple like you. dont overdo it coz you cant meet your desired weight in one sitting...it takes time.

Here are some good things to keep in mind.

1. Cardio for fat reduction 12-24 minute workouts run fast for 3 minutes walk 3 minutes
2. Cardio for endurance 12 minutes - 1 hour workouts steady pace

Try to keep the following under an hour but an extra 30 minutes doesn't hurt every now and then
3. Muscular strength workouts: mostly compound exercises, no more than 15 exercises with less than 30 total sets
4. Muscular endurance workouts, 1 set per exercise to failure with 50% to 60% your 1RM weight
