We exist because God is always thinking about us. So, we wouldn't be if he spoke it.

Since God is characterized as the creator and sustainer of all reality, for him to come to the realization that "we" don't really exist would be to admit that he had been deluding himself for all of time. He'd then have to start wondering what else he had been imagining, or if he himself actually wasn't someone else's dream.
