Matthew 27:5-8 says, "So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself." The chief priests picked up the coins and said, "It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money." So they decided to use the money to buy the potter's field as a burial place for foreigners. That is why it has been called the Field of Blood to this day." Acts 1:18-19 says, "With the reward he got for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out. Everyone in Jerusalem heard about this, so they called that field in their language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood." Which is correct? Did Judas hang himself or did he fall? Did Judas buy the field or did the priests buy the field?
Judas hung himself in the potters field (Matthew 27:5) and then after his body decayed and bloated, evidently the rope broke and he burst into pieces on the land of the potters field (Acts 1:18-19). Acts 1:18-19 presumes Judas' hanging...as a man falling down in a field does not result in his body bursting open. Only decomposition and a fall from a height could cause a body to burst open. When Judas threw the thirty pieces of silver down, the priests took the money and used it to buy the potter’s field (Matthew 27:7), not knowing that Judas was going to hang himself there. Judas may not have purchased the field himself, but it was the money Judas received for betraying Jesus that purchased the field.

Why don't you read the other three gospels.
The book of Acts is actually part two of the Gospel of Luke.
Anyway Judas was paid 30 pieces of silver to betray Jesus.
When he realized what he had done, he returned the money to the Jewish leaders and they used it to buy a potters field, or a place to bury poor people.
Then Judas hung himself.
After that, probably several days later, either the rope broke or when they cut him down, his insides all gushed out as his body hit the ground.

According to tradition, Judas received money for betraying Jesus. When Jesus was crucified, Judas regretted his decision, and used the money to buy a field. He hung himself from a tree in the field, and his body hung there until it started to decompose, fell to the ground, and burst open.

Judas was paid 30 pieces of silver by the religious leaders for betraying Christ. Judas repented, returned the silver, and throw it on the temple floor. Those religious folks, to cover their butts, hung Judas and slit him open. It was murder, not suicide.
Kinda like the guy in NY, shot 6 times in back of the head, who commit suicide.

This is the best account as what happened to Judas found in Matthew.
What you read in Acts is Peter explaining the prophecy about it because the people there noticed Judas wasn't with them
Matthew 27:
3Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
5And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
6And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
7And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.
8Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

Judas was so repentant of what he had done, he went back to the priests to try to undo his wrong. When they would not let Jesus go, Judas hung himself on a tree.

He got paid to betray Jesus. He took the money, bought a field, hung himself and then he fell headlong and his guts spilled out. It means what it says, the field then became known as, I forget the foreign words, interpreted means, field of blood.
