Having once lived in Utah and having been witness to some such families, I think it's entirely possible that a lot of them are married to their mother-in-laws. But then that brings up a whole new set of problems!

I would think they would have watched the news and saw what happened to their great leader Warren Jeffery's. He won't be coming home to his wives for a long time and those prison bars are bound to make other polygamists think twice. I think since they got Jeffery's it may just be a door opening to even more arrests and charges.
But why would any man want more than one wife when they usually have trouble with one? Could you imagine two or three wives nagging and ragging on you all the time? And then you add extra Mother in laws in there and you've got a death sentence!!! I can just imagine that not all polygamists get along with their Mother in laws, especially if they don't believe in the mess anyway!!!
It's like opening a can of worms to me. I figure they should have to follow the laws of America which only allow you to have one wife or it is bigotry (sp?). If they want to live in this country they need to learn to abide by the laws or move to a country that is more accepting.
Interesting question that definately deserves a star!!

Can you imagine family get-togethers - What a lot of fun THAT would be. Most probably the mothers-in-law don't get along with each other OR the other wives. The polygamist has to have several wives so maybe he can find someplace to sleep when the others are mad at him.

Most the time polygamists had to put the wives in separate houses. Probably to keep them from fighting.
If my daughter married a polygamist he had better be afraid. Very afraid.

I can not phantom why any man would want more trouble, than what comes, naturally with one woman.
several wives, several mother-in-laws, WHAT A GLUTEN FOR PUNISHMENT !!!
But, on the other hand, I do believe that there are 'men' who would put ALL of the wives AND mother-in-laws to work, and live a "very screwed up life" !!!!!

The legality of it extremely is not even an argument. If I had the money to assist extra beneficial than one spouse i'd extra beneficial than one...it is permissible in some religions to have distinctive different halves (I persist with one such faith) and that being the case, the legality would not remember. Religions regulation is the only valid regulation and consistently take precidence over civil regulation.

Doesn't matter. In the FLDS polygamist society, women have no say. I doubt mothers-in-law are an issue.

My guess would be no better or worse then anyone else does.
However, the MIL's do give permission for the daughters to be married off so odds are they like the dude at least a little bit LOL.

I knew a guy with a couple wives. He got along with one mom-in-law, but not the other.
That's as much input as I can give you.

It's all part of the learning process.---If you accidentally hit yourself in the head with a hammer, and it feels good, you might do that again.---If it still feels good to you, ---try a bigger hammer.---then just keep working your way up to a 10LB. sledge hammer.---If that's still a pleasant experience for you,---go chop down a giant red-wood tree and stand under it as it falls.
If you survive all this with no pain,---then it's time to go and propose marriage to Rosie O'Donnell.
