Make a tent over some chairs with a blanket, turn off the lights and have a picnic. I don't know why that works but my kids always loved it.

Definitely do something.
Try baking a small treat. Invite family and friends. Your girls might not remember this party, but it would be worse if they look back and don't see any photos of their birthday! Maybe you could take the girls to the park and let them run around and have a day where you can give them all of your attention.

I have twin sons and a daughter with birthdays two weeks apart. The thing that worked the best for me was to combine the birthdays and save until the next payday. Don't ask your daughters if this is okay; tell them this is the way it will be.

Bake them a cupcake on their actual birthday! Sing happy birthday and make a big deal out of the day! Maybe cook a special dinner that includes their favorite foods! ;)

well you could go have a special day with them they are young to even remeber but at least they will understand that its their b-day try just watching their favorite show or playing a game with the 2 year old and having the 1year old just being their make up little games like hide and seek or something else like that or go outside with them in the front or back and just play with them (park works too) let them color or have a tea party or dress up there are so many things to do thats free just be creative make it free and special
:]

Spend the WHOLE day with them, painting, dancing, playing, maybe even let your two year old help bake the cake! (Just let them stir it or pour in an already-measured cup of sugar or something.) Then that evening have a yummy dinner, bring out the cake you all made together and sing happy birthday. At their age, they just want to spend time with you! Just have fun! :)

This happened to me very recently. I know this will cost but only a few dollars. I bought cake mix ($1) and frosting (also $1) and some decorating candy ($1 each). I let my daughter bake and decorate her own cupcakes. She had alot of fun and it was cheap. I only spent $4 or $5 at most. I hope this helps.

The best thing that you could do for two little girls ages one and two is take them to a park and have a family day of playing together.

Sing happy birthday and invite SOME of her close friends to help you. Or get all together and everybody can give a little bit of money and then you can throwl a party.

they're 1 and 2? They dont even know that its going to be their birthdays. You could make their birthdays be on whatever day you choose, they have no idea what a birthday is at this point anyways. Just spend TIME with them, thats what they want, time with you.
