You don't breathe when you're dead. You do when you are still alive.

TolemPole,
Non-existence is the dominate factor against life. Death is the departure of life. Life begets life, but death does not beget death because there must be life before death can occur.
Life and death are not equal. Death is the doorway to non-existence, a state that you cannot recall to mind. But, life on the other hand, you can remember much of your history, and you are aware of the conscious state of your being.
Death is the way to the everlasting deep sleep, from which only God can awaken, if He should remember you.

Organic life means that one is capable of taking in nutrients and reproducing. To humans, it means that the heart is still beating, there is still breathing and brain activity. In the spiritual sense, it means having the consciousness of existing. In "get a life" it mean experiencing the challenges and support because of being responsible, being supplied and being cared for. The reverse of all these is death, except for the last one which is boredom.

life leads to death so technically death is the answer to life. The moment you start living you start dying

there are thirteen companions to life. there are also thirteen companions to death. why is this? because man draws too heavily on life. a man who lives well has no companions in death. tigers find nothing to lay their claws on. arrows find nothing to dig into.

death is the absense of all sensations. no sight, sound, taste, sound or touch.

Life is when you're breathing and stuff.

Death is what we call the event when you stop breathing, and for that matter "you" cease to exist.
