Well you love the person that you think you know through whatever contact methods you have, but you never truly know what a person is like till you meet them and be with them. So yes you can love someone you never met but whether that's the true self of that person, you'll have to find out.

I would have to say that it depends on the situation. I've known people that have fallen in love over the internet, and once they met in person their love just intensified. It could happen!

you may have great feelings for what they say to you,which for some is all they will write.
I have some experience with internet dating now,and more often than not,the man would have left out important things or outright lied to me.
The dating advice writers usually advise that the first time you actually meet that person is a blind date,and you start from there.I'd have to say my experience echos that advice completely.

To love someone you have to trust them. Would you trust a stranger? You can admire, but not "love" someone you don't know. Love takes time.
