a couple of girls on my bbjh volleyball team had the same problem. they're just really skinny, all bone, and not that much muscle. something our coach recommmended for them to do was lift weights. it'll make your arms stronger.
but the way to correctly serve is to start with your left foot slightly in front of the other/ holding the ball with your left hand and your right hand up and ready to serve/ toss the ball directly in front of your right hand/ step with your left foot at the same time as you're arching your back and smacking the ball across the net with an open, hard hand.
make sure that your hand is HARD when your about to serve. if you serve it with an open soft hand it's not gonna go very far.
i hope you keep improving,
best wishes

ps. you know, there's this girl on the highschool team in my city, and she's on a magazine cover, and she has a scholarship to college out of state for volleyball, and she started off on the worst team in the 7th grade. but now she's the BEST.
good luck!

With a fist, you will not have total control.

Ideally you should cup your hands. Cup you hands and place it on the volleyball. That's the shape you are looking for.

Alternatively, you can bend your wrist up, pull your fingers back, and punch the ball with the heel of your palm. That is, the area of you palm closest to your wrist. It's an overhand serve with enough power to clear the net and more control than you can ever get from using a fist.

When cupping, you can serve hard, do top or side spins. With the heel, you can do floaters. I've detailed how to do trick serves in another answer a few months back. So look at my answers to other questions and scrool back to the volleyball topic if you want the details.

the key is to toss the ball in front of you bend at your waist and use that as a momentum bringing your upper buddy forward .now when you make contact with the ball you don't want to hit the ball from the bottom ,you want the point of contact to be top middle and don't have your palm totally open you want to have your palm like wrapped around the ball and when you swing your arm you don't use the whole arm you just swing from your elbow then snap your wrist for power .
practice holding the ball high with your left hand and hit the ball inside your hand with the other hand to get a feel of the serve and keep an eye on the ball
thest best I could do to describe the movements.
sorry my english sucks
good luck

good I'm now not too definite approximately overhand however here is underhand: OK, so that you do the serving stance, you already know, the complete factor with the reverse foot ahead, and ball out for your hand, and stuff. When you serve, hit it with the backside facet of your hand, palm up. It must make a first-rate thwacking noise. To make it move extra, you need to arise extra. What I imply is bend via your knees while you serve after which arise out of your bent role. Also while you serve the one factor you must be considering is the ball and wherein you wish it to head. Not "My hands itchy" or "I'm hungry" and worst of all, "I can not do that". NEVER EVER feel that!!! Because then your trust stage is going down. Anyways, factor your toe to wherein you wish it to head. Say when you step closer to this woman at the different crew given that she's unhealthy at getting first ball up, then factor your foot closer to her. Once that is performed, attention at the ball till you have hit it. Also, if the ref means that you can, you'll repeatedly do a jogging begin for your serve, like a couple of steps and THEN hit it. That has helped a whole lot of individuals on my crew, me integrated. Hope this is helping. Oh and P.S., It is helping to fake that the ball is any one's head that your fairly indignant at, annoys you, or something. It works very good ;) Good success!

Serve with the palm of your open hand. Don't just use your arm put ur whole back into it. Swing with your body. Don't jump. Hit the ball at its highest point. Good lUck!

You can serve a volleyball with a fist, using the underhand serve.

I couldn't overhand serve my 7th grade year either. I just practiced serving onto the roof of my house and now i'm one of my team's most consistent servers!
