We have determined that the shortest verse in the KJV, is "Jesus wept". Picture that.......the 'man of sorrows'......weeping......can you tell what Jesus was so sad and broken about ????

He LOVED Lazaras. He FELT the sorrow groaning in the hearts of his loved ones, and understoond their grief to the point he was moved to tears. God IS able to to feel our hurts, and KNOW our needs.

Death of Lazarus. Not arriving before he died and the sorrow of his sisters.
Jesus wept as we all weep out of sorrow and compassion.
btw the KJV is the most greviously errant translation of the bible. Try the RSV or the NIV if you must use a protestant version.

Even though Jesus knew he was going to resurrect Lazarus, he wept because he knew that no one should have to experience death- if only Adam had obeyed!! He knew the pain Martha and Mary and others were feeling, and it hurt him too. Jesus is very compassionate, and he he knows how we feel today too when we lose someone we love.

When Lazarus was dead, Jesus cried/wept because everyone else was crying and sad. Their sadness made him sad.

from Heaven. HE cried because Lazarus would have
to die again.

He was grieved due to the lack of faith in those who didn't understand how effortlessly Jesus could raise Lazarus from the dead, and in that He promised them to raise Lazarus.
