Low oil pressure, or no oil pressure. The tapping is engine parts, probably valves or lifters, running without lubrication. STOP DRIVING THE VAN IMMEDIATELY. You need to have it towed to a mechanic but i'm afraid the damage has already been done. Be prepared for the bad news, you'll probably need an engine.

Oil light on--tapping. More than likely you threw a rod. If you Try to drive it. Check your oil level and bring up the level. But first, check under the car. if there's a puddle of oil----- Tow it don't drive it. If I'm correct, it will cost you plenty and a lot more money than a few dollors for an a few quarts of oil. Next time--you may learn that when the red oil light comes on check it out or have it checked right away..

It sounds like you are low on oil. You should probably put some oil in it. It also probably would be a good idea to find out where all that oil went. It's quite possible that you have a leak somewhere. Good luck!

Did you check the oil level?? Sounds like a you have a noisy or collapsed lifter. Caused by the lack of oil. Make sure you have oil on the dipstick.

Sounds very VERY EXPENSIVE.
You have been checking your oil level every time you put gas in, right? And get your oil and filter changed every 3K -5K miles; right?
Sounds like not - and now you have to pay a whole lot more......
