What do the stars mean???

I just got back to LI NY from a quick trip to Pennsylvania and both ways on I-80 I kept noticing Big Stars on peoples houses and was just dying to know if anybody had the answer!!! I was thinking maybe something religious or i don't know.

The Bible says the stars were put there to light the sky @ night-simple.

They probably all love the Dallas Cowboys or they are All Texans.....Its common down here in TEXAS and any body who moves takes the TEXAS stars with em 8-)
