Dear Kidd,
Along with Sasi I believe that human opinion is neither here nor there.
What matters is what God says. He is not the author of chaos or confusion. By His Word we know that the Watchtower is a FALSE prophet and not to be listened to.
To be a Christian is to believe in the divinity of Christ however the jws do not.
To be a Christian does not mean to simply be a nice person. Anybody can do that.
Edit:
Jws are sinners in need of GRACE.
As was I a sinner in need of God's Grace
before I was born again.
Knowing that the LORD's arm has not grown short
I pray with others that God will grant them repentance!!!
For His glory,
JOYfilled

They certainly don't believe what mainstream Christianity believes and what I believe, that Jesus was true God and true Man. However, there are people in many Christian faiths that don't adhere any more to Christian beliefs on the Incarnation etc. Sometimes the designation Christian is given to persons because of their lifestyle. I believe Christianity is more than that.
I do not believe that the beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses are Christian but God has mercy on the simple.
Absolutely, there are many people who are not Jehovah's Witnesses that are Christian.

They have to believe in Jesus as their personal Savior and have prayed a prayer to ask forgiveness of sins and to say they accept the gift of Salvation.
Jehovah Witnesses are very mislead and misguiding. Maybe Christmas and Easter had begun as Pagan holidays possible...I couldn't say one way or the other but Christians use these as days of remembrance. We remember Jesus' birth on Christmas (even if that wasn't his actual birth day) and we remember his resurrection with Easter (even if that wasn't the exact anniversary of that event.) I do not stick up for Halloween because that is obviously pagan and has no use in the worship of God.
The Bible doesn't say anything about giving a 1,000 years of peace for every sinner to come to Christ. If they gave this option than no one would ever choose to go to Hell knowing the full truth of God and God says some will end up in Hell.
What JW's teach is false. Do not let them persuade you.

Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians. Why? Because we believe in Jesus Christ, and we believe that he died for us, and because of his sacrifice we have a hope for everlasting life.
Do we consider a person who is not a Jehovah's Witness to be a Christian? The American Heritage dictionary defines a Christian as:
1. One who professes belief in Jesus Christ or follows a religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus.
2. One who lives according to the teachings of Jesus.
So the answer is YES, we believe that a person who is not a Jehovah's Witness can be a Christian.

No Jehovah's Witnesses are not classified by any Church as Christian or by any Church councils or organizations (ie World Council of Churches, World Council of Reformed Churches, etc) for the following reason:
They deny the existance of the Trinity which of course leads to the following heresies
They deny Christ was God but was instead a lesser deity.
They deny the existance of the Holy Spirit
They claim prophescy.
All of these are denial of the basic unified tenents of Christian faith what makes one Christian and are heresies. They may use some of the same words but very different meanings to them. Most people do not realize there are guidelines to be classified as a Christian religion.

Our opinions are by the way. Jesus said that unless a person is born again, he cannot even see the Kingdom of God, let alone enter it. JW doctrine states that only 144,000 people from the time of Christ till today have / ever will be born again. They claim some 8,000 JWs today are born again leaving 99.9% of JWs who are not born again. So, on the basis of their own beliefs less than point 1% of JWs can call themselves Christians. And even of that tiny percentage, there is no guarantee that they all truly are born again. The fact that they all deny the personhood of the Holy Spirit testifies strongly that they have no idea what being born again by the Holy Spirit means. The also relegate Christ to just one level above 'holy spirit' (which they call 'it').
God knows those who are his but what Christians can do is pray to God to deliver JWs from their false doctrines that make them think the gospel is about living forever in the earthly aspect of the Kingdom when Jesus continually told us what the Kingdom of HEAVEN is all about. When 99.9% of JWs are really not interested in the heavenly aspect of the Kingdom that is further proof that they have not been born again, therefore they are not yet Christians.

I wouldn't care if they were a Tibetan Monk. If they qualify by Romans 10:9 I accept them as a brother or sister in Christ.
BTW, I have asked JW's and LDS's if they believe in Romans
10:9, and that it is true. And without exception they always say, yes.
I have spoken with faithful Orthodox Christians who believe that the words "Born Again" are something negative. Yet they have confessed Christ as personal Saviour and God. Are you going to reject them? Of course not. I asked one Roman
Catholic who was somewhat devout if he was a Christian and
he said NO. I really don't think he has a clue as to what he believes or why.
Far too many Christians haven't got a clue as to why they believe what they believe. But I believe for the most part they are in fact, saved.

A "Christian," by definition, is one who follows Jesus Christ. One who does not follow Jesus Christ is, therefore, not a Christian.
To answer this question, all we need to do is ascertain whether the J.W. follows Jesus Christ or some other made up demigod like the pagans followed then (and still follow now.) So, let's see:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God." Anyone who believes that about Jesus Christ would be a Christian. Anyone who inserts "a" into the sentence so that it reads, "and the Word was a god" is clearly not a Christian, as this person is changing God's word to create an excuse to keep the imagined demigod that he really wants to follow.

This is what I found out about them. They say they are saved by works. The Bible says we are saved by grace. There is nothing we can do to gain salvation on our own. We are only saved by the precious blood of the Lamb of God. They believe Jesus is Michael the archangel. Their Bible is written in a way that accommodates their theology. They believe in isolating and brain washing their people into following a man made organization instead of following Christ. If they question any part of the doctrine they are labeled "apostates".
They do not want to account for the lavish life styles of some of their founders. They believe in "Replacement Theology". They teach that God has abandoned the Jewish people and that God breaks covenant. They think He replaced the Jewish people with Jehovah's Witnesses! God NEVER breaks covenant! . God has promised to give Israel to the Jewish people. God is a God who honors His promises. One told me that Mother Teresa would not get a resurrection. I asked him why not? He said she did not accept "the truth", meaning she did not think the Jehovah's Witnesses was the one true way to believe. Therefore God will cut her off! They do not believe that anyone who is not a Witness will get eternal life. They believe they have the only way and they are right and everyone else is wrong. They have predicted the end of the "system" of things off and on for so long now. Each time they were wrong. They make excuses for themselves instead of taking a hard look at who is making this mess up! It does not take a rocket scientist to realize that the Bible says that no man knows the day or the hour!.There is so much that I do not agree with however, there are sincere people who are taken in by all of the brain washing and isolation. It would be better if people would just pray for these lost souls instead of attacking them. They are held in bondage to this cult. Pray the Lord would enable them to think for themselves again!
