In Western Christianity, All Souls' Day commemorates the faithful departed. This day is observed in the Roman Catholic Church, churches of the Anglican Communion, Old Catholic Churches, and to some extent among Protestants. The Eastern Orthodox Church observes several All Souls' Days during the year. The Roman Catholic celebration is based on the doctrine that the souls of the faithful which at death have not been cleansed from venial sins, or have not fully atoned for mortal sins, cannot attain the beatific vision in heaven yet, and that they may be helped to do so by prayer and by the sacrifice of the Mass (see Purgatory).

All Souls' Day is also known as the Feast of All Souls, Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed (from the Latin Commemoratio omnium Fidelium Defunctorum), Day of the Dead (in Mexico), or Defuncts' Day (in Hungary, France and Italy).

The Western celebration of the feast falls on November 2 and follows All Saints Day, which commemorates the departed who have attained the beatific vision. Since the liturgical reforms of the Second Vatican Council the feast is celebrated on November 2 even in years when that date falls on a Sunday. In the traditional Latin rite, the observance is transferred to Monday, November 3 if November 2 is a Sunday, as the Mass for the dead and its black vestments is seen as inconsistent with the joyous nature of Sunday.

The Eastern church celebrates several days throughout the year, most falling on Saturdays, because of Jesus' resting in the tomb on Saturday.

All Soles Day is when you go through your closet and throw away all the old sneakers you don't want.

All Souls' Day is a Catholic day of observation giving homage to everyone who has passed away.

Not to be confused with All Saints' Day, where Catholics celebrate all the canonized Saints that have passed on.

Don't know how I'm getting thumbs down...All Saints' Day is a holy day of observation, and All Souls' Day is the day after. Been going to church for those days all my life!
Halloween, All Saints' Day (which is why Catholic school kids don't go to school) and then All Souls' Day. Have a mass said for my grandfather for the past 20 years on Nov. 2! Look it up!

First it is NOT Halloween. All Souls day was yesterday (Nov 2nd). All Saints Day is on Nov 1st, and (All Hallows Eve) Halloween is on Oct 31st.

All Souls day is a day to remember the dead and is also called Día De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) in Mexico. It is mainly a Catholic thing.

See this I cannot believe in, We cannot go back and pray for some ones soul, they have either found salvation and asked for it while they were here or not, I do not see this in The Bible, if someone does make reference of it, But Jesus Christ clearly teaches How We Have Salvation, We Must Ask, Believe Jesus went to the cross so we may be saved, and REpent of our sins, then ask The Lord into our lives, after you die, you will face judgement, No one can represent you, But Jesus Christ.

All Saint's Day is the Day after All Hallow's Eve (Halloween). All Saint's Day is a celebration of the saints.

Some say all saints day. It is the remembering of all souls who have passed away. The veil between the spirit world and earth thins to allow our prayers to go out to the passed loved ones.
