Would requiring illegal immigrants to serve 8 to 10 years military service be a good way to gain citizenship? If I person entered legally they could serve 1 to 4 years unless they had a desirable occupation. (oh and no more anchor babies period.)

France did this in the 1800's and it became known as the Foreign Legion.

I have friends that I serve with every day who are not even citizens!!!

I don't understand why they are not citizens automatically after two years of service and a pass on the American history and English comprehension exam. Is this too much to ask? I think not.

After all how many lazy naysayers are there out in our society right now who are just back on the block smoking weed ripping on the president and who will never serve.

SOLUTION:
1) build the wall / close the border
2) crack down on employers
3) deport the ones that don't self-deport
4) no more anchor babies

That is the ONLY way to solve the illegal alien crisis! I would not want a military full of illegals that are being FORCED to serve.

I have to agree with the statement made by "Ancient warrior" I know from personal experience that the ONLY qualification needed in a foxhole is the ability to shoot straight, all other considerations go by the boards.
America already has a "solution", we just need effective leadership with enough backbone to do what is right for the law abiding citizenry of this nation, represent the majority of the nations citizens in good faith, craft common sense legislation, demand strict enforcement of existing and any legally enacted laws that have a direct impact on America's sovereignity & security. Mainly, our legally elected officials at all levels of government need to understand that they serve at "the will of the people". Excersize your rights, & fight for your freedoms or you will lose both.

The laws regarding immigration MUST be updated, and ILLEGAL still is ILLEGAL regardless of the service.
Are you trying to turn the Government into the nations largest supporter of jobs for ILLEGALS?
THAT would violate the principles of the law as well as being a criminal act.
We need to streamline the methods of permitting temporary workers into the U.S.A. for the purpose of obtaining temporary employment.
We must NEVER have an 'open borders" policy.

I say NO!

Could you imagine. They are already cowards who sneak in under the cover of night and run back to Mexico after they commit a crime in one of their drunken stupors.

If they were called to fight, they would probably cut and run and end up invading Canada with US arms and training.

They can't even find enough brave mexicans to fight injustice in their own country, what makes you think that they would fight for it here?

No,
Gangs are currently in the military. Gangs send their members to the military to be trained in weapons and tactics.
We don't need to help our enemies any more than we already do

no, you have to have allegance to the united states and i think that immigrants, especially illegal, are entirely incapable of that.
