Look at this money based world we live in, and even nature.

How can any of these conditions prove that a "God" exists?

I don't see the possibility.

GOD is only a concept that a HUMAN BEING with a developed brain can conceive and comphrehend, that's of a certain age. No one below the age of lets say 10 can really rationalize with the idea. They may get the basic concepts, but that's that.

Is it fair to send these people to "hell?"

I think so many of us are failing to deal with reality, and don't know what to make of our own intellect, so we need something as a crutch or to define us.

If God does exist, then why must we exist among such godless conditons, among godless people and countries, which trade with each other and abide by virtually godless trade and value methods?

I mean, after putting alot of thought into it, "GOD" doesn't seem present hereHow do we find "GOD" in such a godless existence?

NOT saying evil at all, just ...lack of anything higher.

Also, if most/all of us are sinners and fall short of the glory of God, isnt that basically SAYING that we're living a godless, sinful,, more hell-like existance, in the first place, and the bible is just trying to help us "Survive" this godless place?

I mean, even in other religions, they agree that living is a form of suffering, which they try to justify.

I see the beauty in life, and I do feel great about things, I"m not depressed, I just don't know why we should rush to conclusions that God exists.

Lets not set an age limit above 6 to 7 because some people can conceive and comprehend God at a young age.

The world is based on money, because it is more efficient than barter, and since resources are scarce, we must rely on making decisions at the margin to get what we really need. Resources are really, technically, considered scarce because humans don't live that long. Thus time, one of the most valuable resources, must be used wisely.

The biblical answer to why we must live among godless conditions, is that man decided to govern himself since an early point in time, and since then conditions have gotten worse. Eventually though, God will clean everything up. For bible verses or a better explanation, feel free to e-mail me.

Hell is a concept that mainly arose from a metaphor used by Jesus, and shouldn't be taken literally.. No one will actually suffer forever, as we do now because of having a nervous system.

In the bible we find that God doesn't seem present here, because right now, Satan is governing the world.

Briefly, we just have to look some common, very amazing, complicated and precise natural 'creations' to get an idea that some super Being is responsible - the numerous layers of an onion, the finely-crafted design of snowflakes, the nicely-arranged parts of the sunflower, and a host of other things made in Nature.

If God doesn't exist and create all these marvels, then who does it? God also keeps our Earth rotating on its axis and revolving around the sun with precise timings. Even many great scientists sense the presence of God when they delve very deep into the workings of the plants, animals and even atoms, particles, sub-particles and all the many strange forces that exist in the micro-cosmic world of matter. Some of these facts even resulted in the making of nuclear devices for both good and evil uses.

There are indeed countless things in Nature that are amazing, mysterious or unexplainable in looks or working that can only be due to God and nothing else. In simper ways, the fact that we humans can do healing, play a host of musical instruments, possess numerous physical and mental skills, etc shows that God exists.

EXACTLY. So why is it even possible for a person to believe? It's inside You, that's why. Reasons are not "out there." You can look on the freeway, in a crystal ball, or gaze at the stars, but that won't help You find Your shoes.

This is a 2 hour conversation.. My strong advice is troll R&S and find a thinking Christian that you think might have their act together and contact them and ask them all these questions. Just do a search on the topics you've picked and start looking. all the ones you brought up could easily be dealt with by a mature knowledgeable person of faith. Especially the part about him being present here and now, just because you haven't seen or experienced him doesn't mean others have. If you did a question like "have you ever experienced God in your life" people would come out of the woodworks answering you. Do the "search" and see.

Edit: Larry D. If there are being that exist in other dimensions at this point in science how would we have any method of observing them any way. That's the basic problem with proving string theory right now, the models seems to work but how do you prove it? The "God" model seems to work for many beliefs people have but proving it seems to be elusive on the grand scale but for many not on the personal scale. Many physicist "believe" in string theory but have yet to figure out how to prove it because of its dealing with laws of a higher dimension.

No, there is no evidence of any kind in what we see around us that there is a god. There have been countless attempts by very bright people to find such evidence or formulate proofs, yet every single one without a single exception has been fully repudiated.

Whether human society is bad or good is a matter of perspective. You today have a longer life expectancy (by a factor of at least 3), and a better prospect of health (by many more times), less risk of repressive treatment (by a factor of several thousand) than at any time in recorded human history.

Its also worth noting that the major cause of many of the bad things in the past like ignorance of medical technique, lack of scientific advancement and rule by repression were directly the resulty of religious belief in god.

It must be clear that it is not possible to prove God by the usual scientific method. Then again one can't prove Abraham Lincoln either. The reason lies in the nature of history and in the limits of the scientific method. For proof it would have to be repeatable. But the beginning of the universe or the assassination of Lincoln can't be proven because they can't be repeated. But the fact these things can't be repeated doesn't disprove their reality as events.

The complexity of our planet points to a deliberate Designer who not only created our universe, but sustains it today. The human brain's complexity shows a higher intelligence behind it. There is an intelligence to it, the ability to reason, to produce feelings, to dream and plan, to take action, and relate to other people. How does one explain the human brain? "Chance" or "natural causes" are insufficient explanations.

The bottom line, to state with certainty that there is no God, a person has to ignore the passion of an enormously vast number of people who are convinced that there is a God. And the evidence is overwhelming that He does exist!

Your problem lies in the fact that you have wrong ideas about God and how he works in our lives.

Evil and suffering is not a disproof of God, but a constant reminder of our need for the perfect God of the Bible (2 Cor 1:8-9).

God did not create a perfect world. The more perfect exists alongside the perfect. Nature has both constructive and destructive forces. Physical good will always be mixed with physical evil until creation reaches perfection. God created the world in a state of journeying so that we could be his co-creators in perfecting our world.

Suffering is a call to love one another. It is also our ticket to heaven. Much of the evil and suffering in our world is due to our failure to heed the commandment to love one another. Our love not only heals and nourishes those who suffer but also redeems us. Suffering then is a necessary part of life because without out it we would effectively be like spoiled children not truly loving God out of our own free will.

“We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” – Romans 5,3-4

That is why God does not seem to interfere in our lives. He has a plan for to get us to heaven and he does not want to make changes in that plan unless something goes wrong. But we certainly can (and should) pray that this plan includes the special favors that we ask of Him. His plan takes into account all of the free-will choices that we make, including how much we pray and how diligently we try to follow His commands. By all means talk to God all the time about a happier life here on earth.

I would think the only way to prove god exists is to become become deity yourself. What I mean is you have to assume the qualities of god such as omnipresence, omnipotence, omniscience, and immortality. I think it would be much more realistic if we just settled for trying to prove there is an afterlife instead.

Religion per se is a personal and harmonious relationship with God. It is pretty much mystical. We cannot explain it easily because our logic is limited by the dimensions of time, space and causation whereas God is beyond these dimensions. To a certain degree we can muse over religion but, without experiencing it, our studies will always be incomplete. I have experienced religion but, if I try to explain it to someone who is predisposed not to believe, it's hard to teach.

Realistically we cannot prove anything including ourselves actually exist. The enitre world is a devleopment of your brain therefore cannot be trusted to actually exist beyond your perceptions. So if it is good enough proof for you, why is that not good enough for believers in God?

Perhaps other peoples worlds (or perceptions there of) are nothing like yours. So perhaps you are not the one dealing with reality.

Problem with taking it into reality and perception, you negated your whole argument. Which might have had some discussable merit had you tried not to over reach and begin with assumption that are solely your own and not universal.
