got screwed by car dealer on a 2006 mustang I bought 5 mos ago. to date no title, registration or tags. NJ DMV is requesting an etching of the serial number but, the one under the windshield is too low to stick pencil in and the one on the door is printed on a sticker, not etchible. Is there anywhere else I might find the VIN #?

I would explain the situation and ask if a digital picture or polaroid would work. I would also go to www.consumerprotection.com and look under lemon laws for your state to see if anything can be done.

Maybe take a picture of it...VIN numbers are stamped all over the car on major sheet metal parts...usually on little vinyl labels. The VIN number should be on the sale paperwork from the dealer.

No

Use a tooth pick or skewer with a piece of carbon paper under a piece of regular paper.
