I am trying to figure out what's the best way to get to New York City. I live way down here in Houston Texas and I want to know what's the best way to get there if you don't have alot of money.

The only practical way for such a long trip is to fly.

Greyhound is terrible for any trips longer than 5 hours-- The seats are cramped and uncomfortable, you can't get up to stretch or anything, the on-board restroom is inevitably disgusting.

And as pointed out above, driving or riding Amtrak will cost you more than to fly (though I feel those are more preferable than riding Greyhound).

Flying from Houston to NYC is the most sensible option.

Greyhound will take 2days, but that's bad. Just pay in advance and you'll be here in 4hrs, for a cheap price. Look up tickets, and find you'll find a ticket in your price range. Don't take greyhound because it could be dangerous, and pay the extra cash for a safe and fast trip. Good luck.

A greyhound will take about a week.
If you book a flight in advance you can get a flight for less than 100 bucks.

I, too, recommend flying. But you could fly into Newark, NJ, airport and catch the AirTrain to NYC. I don't have the information on that, but you could probably look it up. It worked for family when they were in NYC the same day I was visiting (long story there).

Airplane or greyhound bus

Oddly, driving or Amtrak costs more money than flying.

jetblue has pretty cheap flights, otherwise a greyhound bus. driving will be way expensive b/c gas, stopping for food and youll probably have to stop to sleep somewhere.
