I need to know about the PS3...?

what is the advantage of purchasing the ps3 with a bigger hard drive, say 80GB vs. 40GB?...is it really worth the extra 100 dollars?...thank you for your help...

well, if you're going to compare those 2, the 40 and 80, then the differences are pretty big.

The 40gig doesn't support backwards compatability so you can't play PS2 games. So if you have a big PS2 library you will need to keep your PS2 around.
It also doesn't have the slots for the different kinds of memory cards like sandisk or memory card duo.


The 80gig has all those things. and both have BLURAY players, HDMI ports, Blu tooth, and wireless connectivity.

it just depends what you want to do with the PS3. I know a lot of people that have recently bought a 40gig PS3 and love it. But they also don't have much of a PS2 game library.

Its worth it to get the 80gb because is has more features the 40gb doesnt, the 80gb has backward compatibility with ps2 games and the 40gb doesnt, the 80gb also has flash card slots, and 4 usb ports instead of two.

Really it depends on if you want backwards compatibility and a bigger hard drive. I think cuz the PS3 is built to last for years so a bigger hard drive in probly a good thing. The BC is also a good option if you have a PS3 and HDMI cable, so you can play PS2 games in HD too. I got a 80gb cuz there was a good deal for me...but ultimately its your choice.

well if you want to play ps2 games then get the 80 or 60gb. if you are going to save a lot of stuff then get the 80gb. if you are just using it to play games and watch movies then get the 40gb. after all, its your desicion. i have a 60gb and i have 30gb left.
