He really shouldn't have laid hands on you like that. That's assault in some people's books.
However, I do not generally report people when they have stepped over the mark, preferring to follow Matt. 18:15 :
Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
That means : go sort it out between you and him. Tell him what he's done wrong and expect an apology from him. But don't get him into trouble. Think what it would be like if someone reported you, had you done the same thing. This could cost him his job. Do you want that?
The trouble is, it takes a lot of courage to confront someone like this - and do it nicely. Use this as a means of developing character and as part of your growing up process!
Maybe you couldn't face him the first time and that's why you pretended to cry and made up the story - to win people over by underhand means.
You need to do it right this time. You can nearly always have another chance to do things right, but do it soon. Remember, you were messing him about, he got impatient and then he went too far in choking you. After that, you acted in a deceitful way because you didn't feel you could tackle him in a straightforward manner. Although he has wronged you, you're not entirely clean on this one, too, and now, it seems your conscience is bothering you.
Good! All is well! As I said, go to him and put it right this time. Be gentle, be kind (just as you would like to be treated) and show him what he has done wrong. If he accepts your words and apologises, I suggest that you also come clean with him on your own shortcomings. The process will make you both grow.
However, if he absolutely refuses to discuss it and turns away from you, you can serve him warning that you intend to report him. Again, you have given him fair warning.
If he still refuses to listen, you can either forget about it or do as you have said.

It's people's nature that we get anger, but as a youth leader he shouldn't have choked you, but what you have done may be wrong, but you did that for ur protection... so it het compensated... i think u should leave it.. still if its hindering you, try telling the truth to him, and also tell him what he did was also wrong in a polite way...

A youth leader shouldn't be choking you. Report him to the cops. What you should have done is kick him in the nuts.

You ought to report the leader. What you did may have been wrong but the leaders response was uncalled for.

If this is true, you need to get out of there and tell your parents and the senior pastor why, pronto. Obviously he is physically abusive (and it could get worse), and also, you are not the janitor.
