I have been with my partner for just on 4 yrs now. My family acted as tho they liked him at first then they showed there true feelings when we moved out. We have a son together, we love each other, we want to get married but i know my family isnt going to like it, my mum and brothers act like they like him to his face but say **** about him behind his back to me and even tho dad doesnt say anything on it anymore i pretty sure he hates him. should i invite them to the wedding or just let them not know.

No, Im not gay...he is more than a boyfriend but i cant as yet call him my husband so therefore i say partner....I am not throwing away my family watsoeva...I had left them behind b4 i was with him and thanks to him i reopened the realationship with them, Yes he got me preg b4 we got married...but that was on my part anyhow as I did not want to get married just because of being preg, that is very old fashioned for start and I decided that if i was to ever get married i want it to be forever not just cause somebody fathered my child...my partner has said from the first day we met he wanted to marry me and has not ever waivered from that once....

I'd tell them how you feel. If they love you then they should be willing to accept your partner, if not then it's time to cut the ties and walk away. They should respect your decision and support you. I'm sorry to say this but they sound very closeminded and twofaced.
Your partner doesn't need to treated like that and neither do you.
I'd let them know of the wedding but then watch their reactions. If you feel that they won't behave themselves at your wedding, then don't bother inviting them. It's going to be your day not theirs.

Okay now...

You have your family and your partner.

It sounds like your family is making you choose either your partner or them. CHOOSE your partner and completely get rid of the family until the family apologizes and decides never to say anything bad about your partner again.

You know, there is a lot to be said about CLASS. What kind of family do you have if they can't show a little CLASS by not badmouthing someone who is important to you???? Can't they keep it to themselves and be pleasant when your partner is there. That is so disrespectful to badmouth your partner to YOU directly, regardless of whether your partner is there or not.

Isn't the definition of family supposed to be a group of people who respect you and are supportive of you??? It doesn't sound like you have much of a family anyways - ditch em.

Invite them. Be the bigger person and do what is right. You cannot control their actions or feelings, but you can control yours. You won't regret inviting them, but I think you will regret leaving them out of this important day.

You need to express how this is affecting you personally.

Then be prepared to cut the cancerous sores out of your life if they cant accept your partner...

Oh that's right, throw away a family that has loved you, supported you emotionally and financially, for some guy who didn't even have the courtesy to marry you before he knocked you up. Sure.....go ahead, don't give your family the respect they deserve and just go do whatever it is you want. But remember, don't go crying to your family when this guy leaves you.
