I was nice to him like i treated him like a normal person. other peple are mean to him or treat him like a baby. so now he likes me and he follows me around. the truth is he really creeps me out because he looks physically scary and i don't even like to talk to him because there's not much you can talk about with him. i just talked to him in the beginning because i felt kind of bad for him. well now he won't leave me alone and i try to avoid him but somehow he manages to find me.

i don't know what to do. i don't want to hurt his feelings, but i really do not like to be around him.

why does this always happen to me? these guys i'm just nice to start stalking me. and i dont know how to get them to stop. so could you please tell me????

Well, If he is mentally retarded he may not understand friendship. You have to explain to him that friends don't hang around every moment of the day, that you sometimes hang out with your friends and sometimes you want to be alone.

I don't see anything wrong with trying to include him in some activities you share with your friends. Like the next time you all go to the movies or something. God has given you a wonderful opportunity to be a great human being and extend kindness to someone who most likely experiences a lot of rejection.

And he has given you the opportunity to speak up for the young man when someone makes fun of him. I am 100 percent sure that you know someone who does. He is retarded and he can't change that but someone who is a jerk most certainly can change their way of thinking. It takes a brave individual to lead the way.

If you are still to shallow to get past looks and behavior of another human being be honest. Tell him you are too big of fake person to be nice to someone who is different. Tell him you are more worried about what others think than being kind to others and you don't want to be his friend. Tell the truth.

First, the term "retarded" is a pejorative, but if he's really mentally challenged he's likely incapable of "stalking" you (which would imply malevolent intent). His appearance is likely a bit disconcerting, but his heart is probably truer than that of any person you've ever met or are likely to meet, because (unlike yourself) he would never judge you on such a superficial basis as you are apparently judging him. I can easily believe he's latched on to you and seems extremely happy everytime he sees you...that's consistent with his nature. I talk to similar people quite often about a great many things; things that make me happy, things that make me sad, things that matter to all of us, and it's always been a rewarding experience. He doesn't need you to feel bad for him; he's fine and God loves him just the way he is. Grow in grace.
As for Ms. Sam's retort, people have a great many names for things that aren't sensitive of (or favorable to) the challenges others deal with daily. I pray you're never forced to be on the wrong side (that is, the receiving end) of similar treatment. You will gain wisdom as you age, but until that day arrives, try to be a little less opinionated...you'll absorb more information that way.

That is so mean to call him mentally retarded, he is a sick person who wants attention. Unfortunately there is no nice way to tell him without him getting hurt by u or the rest of the world, just tell him u have a boyfriend and dont talk to him as much.

How is that mean, calling people mentally retarded? Its the name for it. Secondly, He'll eventually get over you. It just takes time.

There is nothing you can do that is 'nice.' You are going to have to tell him that you don't like him and you want to be left alone. He will probably not respond well to this, but the alternative is to have a creepy retard stalk you. Sounds mean, but it's the truth of the situation.

I don't think he necessarily likes you like that, I think he just enjoys the fact that you are nice to him. Explain to him that you only like him as a friend and that's it. That doesn't mean you have to stop being nice to him though.

Have you considered kissing him? You might make a cute couple.

I once knew a homecoming queen who went out with a guy like that. All the girls said they were the cutest couple there and he was named homecoming king.
