im looking into getting a ps3, i think i may get the 40gb but im wondering will gameplay, and even the system itself run slower because of a lot of things stored on it. I plan to store music and video, but maybe only 10gb at the most.

Don't pay attention to previous answers (totally wrong, they have no idea what they're talking about). Stored games won' take any RAM (the one computer or PS3 uses for processing) memory during your gameplay. Saved games will take space on your HDD, but not in RAM.

I'm with Bull above. The logic is that you would read slower by having 20 books on your book shelf while reading another book. Huh???

it wont slow the game down. the game is being read off the disc not the HDD

most likely it will become slower..but not that slow

well it won't be AS fast as it was before but it will still be pretty fast..not that slow
