Exercise your mind! Do this by reading, conversing or listening in on topics other than sports and the opposite sex. Question things around you and use reasoning before you accept answers ( this will help you retain retain answers because you understood the rationale rather than memorizing). Visit museums, take a course or 2, but do it to learn, not for a grade.
Make exploring this world one of your primary objectives in life, you'd be surprised to find that you aren't so dumb after all, just fallen into disuse. Good Luck!

100% of IQ tests are skewed.

They tested to see if you fit within a certain frame of referrence. If you have no experience on the subject matter of a certain question, you are not able to answer, but you are scored as unintelligent. This is false.
They are memory tests, by and large.
There are some questions and problems that test for ingenuity, like giving the parts of a shape and asking what shape they form. But one may be intelligent with lesser proplem solving skills.

Your mind CAN be improved by using memory increasing techniques, but the recall mechanism is probably predetermined in each of us.

Reading is one of the best methods of using your mind, as our vision take in gigabytes of information every second. our computers might be able to accurately define 14.7billion colors, but so does our brain. Our brains just understand that there is so little difference that we compress it into around 10,000 color variations (probably even less)
to get better marks you need to do the following, in order:
1. gain knowledge
2. understand its application
3. recall it correctly

I hope this helps

Internet tests are not reliable usually, but you should know you don't increase your intelligence, you increase your knowledge, so study and practice recalling what you've learned.
