not eating for a week is also called water fasting. I don't know from personal experience how much weight you'll lose from going on one but i'll go on one with ya if you want =)
i dont think exercise will be good during it, we should get plent of rest.
let me remind you right when its done, its not gnna stay off unless u stil to a healthy diet and exercise. use this as a way to jumpstart everything.

Between December 8 and December 20, 2008 I consumed only 250 calories of protein a day and nothing else (except some vitamins and sodium and potassium chloride), and I went from 185 to 165 pounds. On December 22, I was 175-180 again. I think much of that was simply the undigested intestinal contents not being there inside me and that the actual amount of fat I lost was only 5 or 7 pounds. Also, my body's energy expenditures were much lower towards the end of the 12 days. I was always incredibly cold when I woke up in the mornings and for actual physical activities, I wouldn't say I had no strength or willpower to do anything, but rather I'd say I had almost no stamina to keep it up for very long at a time. And plainly put, I felt crummy all the time. Not hungry. Not sick. Just something else. So I estimate I could probably have gone for about 40 days, maybe even more like 60, before I even was close to running out of fat, and I'm not even chubby. And even after 12 days, my "love handles" STILL looked EXACTLY the same. It won't be as effective as you're hoping. Your body has settled into a certain shape and composition and it won't give it up easily. But don't listen to the sea of people who tell you that you will die or be extremely unhealthy at the end. True, 12 days isn't 3 weeks, and 250 calories isn't 0 (I normally average probably about 3000 by the way), but they're very wrong and vastly underestimate the human body's ability to do nothing for a long amount of time - and most importantly they haven't DONE it so they don't know but I HAVE. We aren't fast, we aren't strong or powerful compared to other animals. This is where we make it up. Starvation endurance.

The reason you gain weight back is because you don't stick with your healthy diet. Permanent weight loss requires lifelong commitment to healthy eating and exercise. That's the truth and no miracle diet will change that. Starve yourself for a week and you actually slow down your metabolism. You'll get the weight right back when you eat again.

Actually not eating will definitely make you lose weight, but then gain it back PLUS more. So the only healthy answer to lose weight is to exercise and eat healthy.

by not eating for a week you will lose weight but you will just gain it right back. the only way to lose weight is to eat less and eat healthy. you say that it doesn't work for you, but how long did you try it out for. weight isn't something that just poofs away with the blink of an eye. stick with a HEALTHY DIET PLAN and you will notice GOOD RESULTS!!!

don't stop eating... i know you dont want to hear that, but if you stop eating in a week or so you will stop loosing weight due to the survival instincs your body has. diet and excercise are wonderful tactics but you don't want to hear that either. so if you are willing to go without eating then you should be willing to eat and consume no sugar. that means no bread, pasta, corn, potatoes, softdrinks or candy! DRINK lots of water to flush your body of toxins. and follow this. oatmeal for breakfast(portion should be no larger than your fist) @ 10am one sinlge serving size of yogurt or cottage cheese. Lunch vegies, raw or steamed, very little salt. 4pm yogurt or cottage cheese again. dinner white meat. chicken or fish. no red meat! serving of rice and steamed veggies all protions should be no bigger than your fist except for veggies. no butter no salt no salad dressing. "fat free" has sugar in it and so does fruit. consume only citris fruits. 12 to 14 glasses of water a day! you will loose 8 to 10 lbs the first week and 5 lbs each week there after.
fat cells DO NOT multiply! they only shrink or expand. if you stop eating you will loose about 10 lbs water weight and maybe 5 lbs of fat and that is it. you will loose that much just by eating the way i'm telling you. not eating at all will leave you hungry so when you do eat again you will gain weight and then some. exercise will boost your metabolism so take the stairs whenever you can and walk whenever possible. other than that honey nothing is going to be faster. it works!

if you are a human being then exercise and diet works. you just didn't make enough changes in your lifestyle and diet.
losing weight as fast as you can will continue to take you on the road to a higher bodyweight than you are now. fad dieting does nothing except slow the metabolism slower than it already is and at your current bodyweight that is something that you can not afford to do.

just because of ur weight rite now doesn't mean that u should stop eating.. ur body will be totally unhealthy and many things will stop working because of that... if you want to lose weight the best way is to eat PROPERLY and EXCERCISE...
