Most likely because they feel it supports their disbelief. That, in itself, is pretty sad.

God bless you, dear brother!

Is this one of those Star Trek Voyager questions, Matthew 7:1, kind of like Seven of Nine or something? I watched just about every one of those Voyager shows and never heard of Matthew Seven of One. He must be lost on the cutting room floor, though I really don't see what the Bible has to do with SciFi unless you're drawing a parallel of some interdimensional cosmic space-time continuum.

Because they have not read the map of life through the entirety. The Bible is more than one verse, and if they memorize more than one verse they will not be lost.

John "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God."
My personal favorite, Mathew 1:7 "Do unto others as you would have done unto you."

The one's who have something to sell only know one verse, in my opinion.

Ironically, that could be the most misused verse by Christians as well. When poorly applied, it takes away the discernment that God gives to those who seek it. It's as if we are supposed to have horse blinders on while preaching the Gospel. Unaware of anyone we preach to.

Well, since they don't read the bible maybe that is the verse all the bible whiners recite in public to disturb the peace of everyone around ....

LOL...because no one likes to be told that they are doing something wrong...and the latch on to that not understanding what exactly that means because one would need to take all the other "judge" verses into account to make an honest assessment of what constitutes "judge" in that verse. That takes time and effort they don't want to put forth for something they don't believe...sad.

why do those who tell others they are lost know only certain verses to back up their claims and deny the rest of the bible as "false"?

buddy, yet another reason alot of people here think all christians are ignorant... i'd be willing to bet that many of these "lost" people know more of the bible that you. Your right though "judge not..." is pretty popular... but come on man
