my guinea pig has opague blue eyes but shes black and white and orange so im trying to find out if the blue eyes are common in that breed but my question is would it possible that shes actually blind? ive seen other guinea pigs with blue eyes but not as opague looking as hers they sometimes look like they have a tiny bit of pink in them. since ive started asking myself if she may be blind ive noticed she looks up alot and doesnt seem to ever look at me. and ideas?

How old is she?
She could have cataracts,.. if severe, then she is blind or at least has limited vision.

* Read your update,.. that means she is an adult.
G.Ps' lifespan is 5-7-8 yrs., she could have the cataract problem or diabetes,.. which leads to blindness at times.

Try testing her. Like almost poking her in the eye to see if she moves away or waving your hands in front of her. A GP's natural reaction would be to run away. Like other people have said, it could be cataracts or diabetes. Is she getting enough Vitamin C? I had a baby pig get his eyes poked out by his mother and they both turned that dark, cloudy blue color. Luckily somehow they repaired themselves so he could see again. If she was blind from birth, she seems to have done okay to last this long so I wouldn't be too worried but if you truly are concerned, the only thing you can do is take her to the vet.
Good Luck!

She might have cataracts, depemding on her age. If not, she might be blind. None of my eight guinea pigs have ever had blue eyes. Schedule a vet appointment.

You might want to ask a vet. I have seen a dog with that type of eye and she isn't blind.
